Hi @George Hughes, I'm no expert but I did a bit of research before buying a couple of pedals for my TD-3, and you may want to go for clones of classic pedals made by Behringer or Joyo, among others. In most of the comparisons I watched, there was hardly any difference in sound compared to the originals. The main difference is usually that the boxes are made of cheaper materials and are less durable, which makes them less-than-ideal for live metal guitarists, but just fine for a budget-conscious studio producer. Some recommendations: Joyo Splinter: Clone of the Fat Rat. The RAT is a classic distortion in both rock/metal and acid scenes, and the Fat Rat adds versatility with a bass-boosting switch. Palmer Pocket Amp: Named after our exalted leader, this is a clone of the SansAmp GT2 which models 3 classic amps, very versatile. These 2 should work well across most frequencies, unlike many guitar pedals which are optimised for guitars and tend to suck out some bass. Otherwise, with your 50 quid, you could actually get 2 pedals, for instance this Metal Zone clone with some decent mid-shaping features + a dedicated bass pedal, like this Boss ODB3 clone.
