This week reminded me how important honest feedback is — not just from friends or training partners, but even inside our own families. It’s never comfortable to tell someone the truth… and it’s not always comfortable to hear it either. But that’s exactly why it matters. Too often we get surrounded by voices that only tell us what we want to hear. And on the other side, we see overpraise — parents, family, coaches calling everything “awesome” when it was only a little better. It feels good in the moment, but it weakens character over time. Longevity — mentally and physically — requires something different: Honesty spoken with intention. Feedback given with care. Correction that builds, not breaks. So here’s your Mindset Friday drill: • Look at your circle and your family — who gives you honest, respectful truth? • Notice your own reactions — do you get defensive or do you receive feedback? • And look at where you might be overpraising or avoiding the hard conversations. The people who help you grow are the ones who keep you honest. And the strength to receive that truth is what keeps you aging strong. Live Long. Live Strong.
