It is common for us to be more critical of our own bodies. Today, I would like to invite you to consider the following, and you will be journaling afterward. Please acknowledge your triggers. Do you experience shame or disgust that compels you to judge yourself so harshly? Consider any physical blocks. Where in your body do you feel tension or pain? Our emotions are interconnected, and our bodies often provide the first direct signals. With that in mind, your body may be communicating with you by manifesting your fears or negative habits, such as overeating, keeping the shades drawn to block out light, or smoking. Let us confront that shame. Please stop fighting it and stop trying to fix it. Sit with those uncomfortable feelings of shame, and please do not judge yourself. Finally, let's flip the script! Thank your body for protecting you. Then, replace this judgment with empowering truths. For example, giving life, taking a long walk, or having a good run—these are things your body does for you, and acknowledging them is key to acceptance, which then empowers it to give more. What are the benefits? You may automatically change your eating habits. You may automatically change your wardrobe. You may even start feeling and glowing in a different light.
