The speaker clarifies that pentatonics are built from a five-note set, relates major and minor pentatonics to CAGE positions and to removing scale degrees from the major scale, and shows how the D7 pentatonic (A minor 6 pentatonic) is derived by lowering the flat 7 note. They discuss finger and wrist movement caveats when patterns emerge, note that pentatonic material is shaped by superimposing fifths from the harmonic series, and emphasize that it is better to use pentatonics superimposition across chords rather than staying strictly in one chord scale. The Loom also answers Phil’s question about using C minor pentatonic over C minor followed by F7 without getting in trouble, arguing it can add useful suspended and extended-note effects.
