One small thing to try
Sometimes progress looks like asking for help a little earlier, setting a clearer boundary or finally having that conversation. Those everyday moments are the focus of my newsletter, The Human Skills Handover. If you enjoy practical ideas about communication and everyday leadership, you’re welcome to follow along. What’s one conversation skill you’d like to feel more confident with? PS. If someone you know would find this useful, feel free to share the link with them too.

That's amazing.
Bravery
Bravery grows when children are given safe opportunities to step out of comfort zones, with encouragement rather than pressure. Praising effort, not just success, helps them keep trying even after setbacks. As children grow, bravery benefits every stage of life—helping them face school challenges, resist negative peer pressure, speak up when something is wrong, and later navigate adulthood with confidence.

Hard Truths, Big Changes & What’s Next for Evolve
Hey everyone, I’ve been hit with a heap of unfortunate events lately, and it’s forced me to make some hard decisions about Evolve. I’m currently working on transferring ownership of Evolve into good hands — specifically to Shawn Ziem. He’s already been a strong part of the community and I genuinely believe he’ll take Evolve to new heights once Skool gets back to me about transferring everything over. Evolve is still on the hobby plan for now, but I will be active in it again. I’m also working on something special for everyone who’s stuck with us throughout the years — more on that soon. In the meantime, I’m putting together a new project designed to get everything back on track. I’m looking for 15 solid people to help kick this off. If you know how this space works and you’re serious about building something real, simply complete the questions when you join so we can see if you’re the right fit. Once we hit 15 members, we’ll begin charging and add full access to this: 👉 https://www.skool.com/tideblueprint-2788/about This is about getting things moving again the right way — with the right

@Andrew Anderson Me neither. I don't know enough.
Simplifying Parenting: Less Pressure, More Connection
Let go of perfection: Good enough is more than enough. You don’t need to do everything perfectly—just meet their core needs: safety, love, rest, and connection. - Use the “Top 2 Rule”: Each day, pick only 1–2 most important things for them and the home. Everything else is extra. 🗓️ Build simple routines - Routines cut down decision fatigue—kids feel secure, and you don’t have to plan from scratch every day. - Keep them consistent but flexible: wake-up, meals, homework, play, wind-down, bedtime. - Prepare ahead: Lay out clothes, pack bags, prep snacks/meals the night before—saves morning chaos. 🧠 Lighten the invisible mental load - Write it all down: Use a notebook, whiteboard, or phone app. Getting thoughts out of your head frees up mental space. - Centralize everything: One family calendar, one place for notes, one spot for school forms. No more searching or remembering. 🤝 Share and delegate - Age-appropriate chores: Even young kids can help—setting the table, putting toys away, feeding pets. It teaches responsibility and eases your load. - Accept help without guilt: Let family, friends, or trusted neighbours pitch in. Asking for support is not weakness—it’s smart parenting. - Trade favours: Swap childcare, school runs, or meal prep with other parents. 💛 Protect your energy - Schedule tiny recharge moments: Even 5–10 minutes a day—deep breathing, a drink in peace, sitting quietly—helps reset your energy. - Set gentle boundaries: It’s okay to say “not right now” or “we can do this tomorrow”. Over-scheduling leads to burnout. - Connect simply: Quality beats quantity—10 minutes of undivided attention works better than hours of distracted presence. 📌 Quick summary Prioritize → Routine → Write it down → Share the load → Recharge

@Jan Walters I remember my mum used to make sure the grandchildren had a snack every time they came back from school.
