Thinking about our conversation last night; everyone is all about this "AI" computer stuff now. From a foundational skillset/knowledge perspective what's one thing you'd make every FE (or entry level field manager) the "old school" way?
I would make every FE get a paper set of rebar drawings and physically have them check all footings, grade beams, pile cap cages, etc. Have them verify lap lengths and formwork coverage. Also, have them create a spreadsheet with all the different foundation elements to be able to note quantity and volume so you know what your total concrete volume (add % for waste) is and can track percent complete. I found this is a great way as it gets them in the drawings, gets them in the field learning and performing QC checks and allows them to understand production.
