Upcoming Workshops
Just a friendly reminder that April's Workshop will be split into 2 parts. I would love to have you join both sessions or just one. The topics are related but one does not affect the other. April 18 at 2pm Eastern - Creative Containers You Have We will take an hour and explore free and inexpensive ways to come up with containers for your Tiny Gardens and how to get them ready for your plantings. April 25 at 2pm Eastern - Planting The Container Garden I will be taking one of the containers that I prepared on the 18th and taking it to a complete garden and take a look at some other gardens that are done. Come and join us and Show what you are putting together or get some pointers on what you want to put together.

Gardening For Ability
The Gardening For Ability Workshop is complete in the classroom. YEAH! This is a program that is under development for wider distribution. I would love to have input to make it stronger and more useful.

Why This Is Here.
While this group is not a space to advertise or promote in general, several of the members do have projects and businesses that align or are complimentary to resiliency and sustainability. If you have a business or project that you would like others here to know about, create a post briefly describing what you do and the motivation behind your project. Rules: 1) Legal where you are. 2) Ethical 3) In alignment with sustainability (or at least not apposed to sustainability) 4) I reserve the right to delete posts here or this entire section if I see it being abused. I look forward to seeing what you are doing and how that is in alignment with resiliency and sustainability.

Powdery Mildew on African Violets
Thank you Coaxli Wildcat for your question about powdery mildew. The short answer is that powdery mildew is usually not a problem for the health of the African Violet until it becomes severe, but it can easily spread to other plants. Isolation of the plant is your first priority if possible. To prevent powdery mildew, let the top 1/2 inch of the soil dry out before watering again. Too dry is better than too wet. The soil should be a sharp draining mix with extra sand or perlite. For infected plants, try to remove infected leaves if possible. This can be challenging with African Violets. Do remove and destroy any dying and dead leaves and destroy them. TREATMENTS Brush the mildew with a soft damp tooth brush and clean the brush with alcohol. 2 Sprays to try: 1 tsp baking soda mixed with 1 quart water. 1 tsp vinegar mixed with 1 quart water. I would first try getting the tooth brush with the baking soda solution and brush the leaves. Start with one plant or one part of one plant to see how it tolerates the treatment. Let me know how it goes. The full article: https://www.skool.com/delectable-tiny-gardens-4555/classroom/ab5c3d49?md=0623d135399449f0a9667bf38142257d
