Yesterday, I had the opportunity to volunteer at Palmetto High School for their Big Bank Theory program, where students got to experience a real-life budgeting simulation. They had to make decisions about housing, transportation, everyday expenses, and how to manage their money. It was really interesting watching the students work through these decisions and see how quickly expenses add up! The kids were hilarious. Since they were given their life scenario, some who had spouses who didn't work were asking for a divorce lawyer lol. Experiences like this remind me how important it is to teach kids about money early, especially the difference between wants and needs. The earlier we start these conversations, the better prepared they'll be for the real world! Does any one else have any stories about the hilarious things that kids and teens say when talking about "adulting," finances, or life skills in general?
