HOW WE LEARN- Curriculum
Hey MadLab Something very big has been in the works for a long time. I’ve spent years teaching, studying, coaching fighters, building systems, watching what students actually retain… and what they completely forget after class. Most curriculums are outdated. They were built for Jiu-Jitsu in 2005.Random techniques.Disconnected lessons.Move collections with no long-term structure.Students learning things they may never use while missing the skills they actually need every day. That is not how I believe people learn anymore. So I built something different. My Affiliate Curriculum is designed for Old school and modern Jiu-Jitsu. A structured system built around:• Themes• Positional development• Retention through overlap• Decision making• Creativity inside structure• High percentage application• Real class architecture This is not “technique of the day.” This is building athletes, coaches, and understanding over weeks, months, and years. :A coach may choose between Guards, Themes, or even things that are adjacent for that belt level:• Closed Guard W1• Side Control W1• Turtle W1• Mount W1 THEMES INCLUDE Kneeshield, Cruciifix, Inside X, Kimura Trap While Guards may have these techniques inside the curriculum or belt level we have different ways to connect what we are learning while at the same time knowing that not everyone needs to be a crucifix master but can certainly choose that path with our Belt Adjacent sections and Themes. Everything connects.Everything has purpose.Everything layers together intentionally. The goal is simple:Help coaches teach the best classes possible while giving students a system that actually develops skill via technique but allowing creativity and freedom of choice. And the best part…Coaches still have freedom. I’m not trying to create robots reading from a script.I’m creating structure that allows intelligent coaching and creativity while keeping development on track. I’ll be sharing previews soon with my premium members and affiliates. This is one of the biggest projects I’ve ever worked on and I truly believe it changes how academies teach Jiu-Jitsu.

HOW WE LEARN- Curriculum
My Affiliate curriculum
So I am doing something very big and it has taken me a very long time. I will be sharing some of this with my premium members. I want to help my affiliates teach the best classes they possibly can. I will explain how classes are put together and how themes work. I just want your opinions. So You will receive the Theme of Knee shield White Stripe 1-4 (not to be confused with Closed Guard Stripe 1-4) and one of the following below Closed Guard W1, Side Control W1, Turtle W1, or Mount W1. I just right now want your input on how the delivery is. Coaches will be using this as well as students. I will explain how the magic happens later to have the best possible class/ week/6 weeks/3 years with my curriculum and class modifier.

@Travis Bill many of my purple and up is themes or specializing in something that is taught earlier and is brought to expert level Also themes will be more current where purple can choose their game and what they want to study more They must meet criteria though with passing sweeping percentages and be able to accurately articulate why things were chosen over others even if it is wrong

@Travis Bill I plan on this being the best curriculum that allows creativity but also can guide
X guard
So lately we’ve been diving into x Gaurd and my academy. I’ve been teaching several variations of the spider stomp to x Gaurd sweep. Including the lasso. (All things I’ve fixed in my game from the videos here) I have some questions about the sleeve grip on the inside leg. Kinda hard to explain. Video posted @Malachy Friedman
