We’re already on Day 14, can you believe it?! Today we’re going to talk about something fun: something you love to read, watch, or listen to. I talked about my favorite book, but there are so many possibilities! Maybe you want to tell us about: - A book you couldn’t put down - A podcast you listen to all the time - A YouTube channel you’re obsessed with - Something you listen to while driving or working - Something that taught you something valuable - Something that simply makes you happy And seriously, I’m SO happy with the results I’m already seeing here in the community. I’m noticing people speaking with more confidence, taking more risks, and getting more comfortable expressing themselves in English. Keep going! You’re doing amazing! @Marcia Saiter Marcia, I also LOVE 1984 by George Orwell! ❤️ Such a great book! Try breaking the last name into two parts and practicing it slowly before putting it together. Or-well. Then try it a little faster: Orwell. You’ve got this! Also, there’s one little correction: at one point you said “especially in politician.” The word we need here is “politics.” And I have to say: you said “confidently” perfectly today! 👏🏼 Your intonation was spot-on, and it sounded so natural. @Luciano Paes Luciano, this book sounds really interesting! I really liked the message you shared, so I’m definitely going to look into it. And yes, you should absolutely read Animal Farm! It’s such a good book; definitely one of my all-time favorites. ❤️ A few things for you to work on: “Today is the day 14”. Don’t use THE here. Just say: Today is day 14. When you were talking about medo, you used “afraid.” That word is usually an adjective. In that sentence, you were looking for the noun “fear.” “The main message for this book” should be “The main message OF this book” one pronunciation point: in “instead of being afraid,” make sure you pronounce “instead” clearly. it will sound something like this “instéd” You’re doing great, Luciano!! You’re showing up. And honestly, that’s what matters most! Every day, you’re taking a few minutes to speak English, record yourself, and get a little more comfortable. And I’m already starting to notice some improvements in your videos. Today, I want to know a little more about you! 🎯 Your challenge: Talk about where you live. Tell us: Where do you live? What do you like about your city? What’s your favorite place there? What do you usually do there? Don’t worry about making it perfect. Just show up and speak. I’m loving watching your videos and getting to know you guys better. And I’m especially excited to see where everyone lives and what you love about your city! Keep showing up. You did a really good job in this video! And I know Santo André very well, so I really enjoyed hearing you talk about the city! Just two little things to work on: 👉 You said “many trees for you see.” It should be “many trees for you to see.” 👉 You said “builded,” but the past tense of build is built. So: I built… Keep going! You’re doing great. The most important thing is that you keep speaking, keep noticing these little mistakes, and keep improving. That’s how you build confidence and get more comfortable speaking English! 💙

@Luciano Paes Luciano, I’m honestly jealous that you get to live in such a beautiful place! 😂 You should definitely consider yourself very lucky! Just a few things to pay attention to: “Beaches” — remember the pronunciation of the plural ending. It sounds like :bitxchês You also said “on the summer.” We would normally say “during the summer” or “in the summer.” And one more little thing to practice: “the photo of…” not about. Keep practicing these words/probunciation so they become automatic and natural when you speak. You’re doing great! 👏🏼

Well… we all know 13 doesn’t exactly have the best reputation. 😂 But today, 13 is bringing us a good day because we’re talking about something much more fun: 🌎 The Best Place You’ve Ever Visited I’m really excited to hear about your favorite places and, honestly, add a few more destinations to my own bucket list! Your Challenge Record a 60–90 second video talking about the best place you’ve ever visited. Make sure you start with: “Hi, my name is [your name], and I’m giving myself 56 days to speak English more confidently. Today is Day 13, and my challenge is to talk about the best place I’ve ever visited.” Then, tell us: - Where did you go? - When did you visit? - Who did you go with? - What made this place so special? - What was your favorite thing about it? - Would you go back? Why or why not? - Would you recommend it to other people? I can’t wait to watch your videos and discover some new places to visit. Day 13 starts now. Let’s go!

@Luciano Paes Luciano, I’m so happy to have you with us in the challenge! And I absolutely love San Diego too. It’s actually one of my favorite places here in the U.S. Last year, we went to SeaWorld and Legoland with our family, and it was such a special experience! I loved hearing about your experience seeing the killer whales! One thing I want you to pay a little more attention to is verb tenses, especially when you’re talking about past experiences. For example, you said something like: In my childhood, I never have a chance… ✅ In my childhood, I never HAD a chance… Since you’re talking about something that happened in the past, you need had, not have. Also, watch out for the past forms of some irregular verbs. You said: I stand up → I stood up I fight → I fought And when you want to say “eu nunca tinha visto”, remember to use the past perfect: “I had never seen” These are small mistakes, but paying more attention to verb tenses will make your English sound much more accurate and natural. @Katia Groth Kátia, I loved hearing that you enjoyed Sedona! 😍 Sedona is also one of my favorite places I’ve ever visited. Such a beautiful place! And your English is really good in this video! I can already notice some changes in your intonation and accent, and you’re sounding more and more natural. That’s really nice to see! 👏 There’s just one little pronunciation detail I want you to pay attention to: the word “also.” I noticed that you’re opening the first vowel a little too much. In English, it has a more closed “aw” sound. It will sound something like “ólso”. So try to keep that vowel more rounded and relaxed. It’s a very small adjustment, but these little pronunciation details are exactly what will help you sound even more natural. Great job, Kátia! Keep it up! ❤️

@Luciano Paes Hi, Luciano! Congratulations on joining the challenge! 👏 I’m really happy to have you here, and I loved seeing you take on today’s challenge. I noticed a few little things in your video that I want to point out First, you said “do breakfast” We use make breakfast, not do breakfast. Then, you said “my newest son.” In this context, you want to say “my youngest son.” Youngest = the son who is the youngest in age. And there was another one: you said “I go back to home.” In English, we simply say “I go back home.” We don’t normally use to before home in this expression. There were a few other little mistakes here and there, but don’t worry about them! These are the kinds of things that naturally start disappearing as you use English more and more. The goal is to make English feel more automatic and more natural, instead of having to consciously think about every little grammar rule. The more you expose yourself to natural English and actually use it, the more these little patterns will become second nature. You’re doing great, Luciano! Keep going, keep speaking, and don’t be afraid of making mistakes. That’s exactly how you improve! 🇺🇸👏
