Logic Update *Proceed w caution *
So I decided to update Logic today and guess what?!!! IT DOESNT WANT TO OPEN lol if you are a logic user I would highly recommend you all wait until those bug fixes come through ……now I don’t even know how to revert 😢😭. I was so excited for the new session musicians.

Furst: Back up the OLD version of Logic , ( both in external hard drive and apps folder) compress it—- then upgrade to new. Then uncompress old, then rename it . ( put date or version in name). Logic will only upgrade things perfectly named Logic Pro. It won’t if has different name. That way, you can always reinstall/re open ur old version.

Been to quite a few. Always, always, always learn a ton. Any chance Jake will be mixing with the new/updated version of Logic? I’m just now watching tutorials of all the new bells/whistles.
Coming back next month?
This was my first Fix the Mix, and I absolutely loved it, but have a question for the people who've gone before: why did you come back? Do you learn something different every month? Do you come to do the homework just to see how your skills have improved over the past month? Do you come because it's entertaining and/or fun? Do you come just because it allows you to interact with a community of like-minded artists? To those like me whose first FTM this was: are you coming back? Why/why not? I'm probably going to come back next month, but I'd been curious since day 1 of why people would do that, so I thought: why not just ask?

Yup. I’ve done 4 of these. I learn something new every time and relearn many things I forgot. These are pearls of wisdom you can literally start using immediately.
Because of Jake Kodweis I was able to do this. Link at bottom
I would like to do a shout out to Jake and the Fix the Mix educators. I attended about 4-5 of the 3 day sessions over the past 6 months while simultaneously taking multiple other ( competitors to your program, sorry) courses on Logic, mixing, mastering, etc. I am recently retired and fulfilling my previously squelched desire to make and learn music during a crazy, busy career. I am not a great vocalist ( yea Flexpitch ) but felt I needed to do this project myself. It was created with audio -only in mind and the video was an after thought (also a new endeavor). I just posted this yesterday. I encourage you , if time , to experience it a second time WITHOUT the video. With headphones on, if I did my mix and lyric-writing correctly, although you won’t be able to “unsee” some of the video images I used, I hope your ears, mind, memories and imagination will take you to an amazing place. You may even pick out an arpeggiated harp or distant clarinet. As Jake says, “better to be felt and not heard”. The final chorus shows some of the 156 tracks in project. To put in perspective: I first attempted mixing on GarageBand in 2021. Lots of progress since Enjoy . @Jake Kodweis , I include you in shout out in video description https://youtu.be/azPDLdKorJs Lynn Dezelon

Marcia, thank you so much for the compliment. Yes, it sounds like we have “music life put on extended hold for career and now hauling ass to catch up” very much in common. Good for you. I’m not sure where you are located, but one jump starter for me ( guitar, bass, drums and keys—I avoided vocals ) was School of Rock. I did it for quite a few years, focusing on different instruments each time. It’s not just a kid thing. Many of the sites have adult programs full of 40-60 year olds just now getting to bucket list. I agree with you about the life experience augmenting song-writing. It’s so therapeutic as well. At this very moment, I’m at an adult summer music camp this week at The Gaelic College in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia ( I came for Bodhran but also taking the piano and fiddle courses). I started writing another song while here about playing along side the instructors I idolized for so long and being caught in that “I’m good enough” versus “I have impostor syndrome” when I hear them play and realize I’m nowhere near their level. Only have the chorus so far…. Do check out school of rock if there’s one near you. A bit pricy but hugely helpful. There were a few courses from Guitar Mastery Method on line that were good—Their Texas Blues was one I really liked. Rock on!!
