My Small Garden
Welcome to my small backyard gardenโ€”my peaceful place to grow, learn, and connect with the earth. ๐ŸŒฑWhat started as a simple idea has become a thriving space filled with raised beds, fresh vegetables, herbs, and rows of planted crops growing directly from the soil. Iโ€™m learning to cultivate food with intention, from leafy greens and herbs to squash and other seasonal vegetables. Every bed represents patience, faith, and the joy of nurturing something from seed to harvest. My garden is not just about growing foodโ€”itโ€™s about creating sustainability, wellness, and a deeper appreciation for the process. Iโ€™m excited to share my gardening journey, what Iโ€™m learning along the way, and hopefully inspire others to start growing something of their ownโ€”no matter how small the space. ๐ŸŒฟโœจ

Selecting an Herb
Over the next week or so I will post snipetts on how to select an herb in relation to body type. Our first step is understanding our constitution. Constitution is the larger pattern a person tends to carry in their body, digestion, energy, stress response, sleep, skin, emotions, and seasonal rhythm. One way of several to understand your constitution is to understand your Dosha. In herbalism we must understand what body system we want to affect, primary action you would like to solve, the energetic quality of herbs, and the cautions for preexisting conditions or allergies before we select an herb to use. Undertsanding Doshas is a good stepping ground. What is your Dosha? Post below with the nearest city to you or state if you are shy... Climate also affects the herb choices...

๐Ÿ“My Best Strawberry Plant So Far ๐Ÿ“
First year strawberry gardener so it feels exciting when anything grows! (Chosen Category: Wins and Progress because I did a thing I've never done before and I'm proud of myself ๐Ÿ‘) I'm curious..... The runner in my hand, is that going to be a baby? What about the growth I circled in yellow? What will it turn into? And in the red circle? Some growth is happening there as well.

@Tonya Pugh as you open the bunches up you should see the individual plants just be careful not to damage the roots though strawberries are pretty hardy

@Tonya Pugh maybe @Megan Webb can answer that better than I can
Colourful
Thought Iโ€™d share some pics of my garden and the polytunnel as things start to bloom and grow in Scotland, the potatoes and onions are really coming along and the flowers seem to be very vivid this year i donโ€™t remember the colours being quite so vibrant last year
