🔥 Are you a 🔥 chaser or a maker?
I’ve been online consistently every day since the beginning of September. A few days ago, by mistake, I lost my flame… 😅 Some days I’ve shown up just for the sake of it. Other days, I’ve been truly on fire and thought… maybe it’s not worth it, as I've done what I need for the flame. It got me thinking… which camp are you in? And more importantly, what do you value in others? For me, it’s a mix of: Consistency: showing up, even on the “meh” days Authenticity: being real, not just playing to the streak Generosity: sharing without keeping score Curiosity & growth: pushing yourself and others to explore and improve Would love to hear your thoughts—are you chasing the flame, or creating it?
Hi @Helen Pryse Lloyd ! I'm a maker, 100%. I also show up. Still, I lost my flame a couple weeks ago preparing to move. It was a blessing, because there were four days I really didn't show up at all. No guided calm for my community, nothing. I got out of my house, made contracts (I'm selling off market) and drove to another state in a snowstorm. I had to gun the moving truck in low gear to get it out of the neighborhood at all. Then made it and had to unpack and immediately care for my parents. I found my computer days later. It's mortifying to me to not show up. Letting go of the flame made it so that I had a clear vision of my priorities - to show up, check in, not tick all the boxes but be completely present with what I prioritize in the moment. I can't do everything or catch up and why would I? I also lost about 50 places in my community's ranking. It's ok - I need to find my flow here in my new place and build this sustainably.
🌞 Social Saturday! Let’s do something a little different today…
Let’s do something a little different today… One of the best parts of networking isn’t the pitches, the projects, or even the opportunities — it’s getting to know the person behind the profile. The real magic happens when we find common ground, shared passions, and those little things that make us human. So today’s question is simple: 🎨 What’s your hobby? What’s that thing you do just for you — the thing that lights you up, helps you switch off, or brings out your creative side? I’ll go first 👇

I'm multipassionate AND a polymath, so I do a lot of things and people say, "Why don't you talk about your degrees, your award, yada yada..." and it's because I don't care. They don't connect me to more than a small niche of people. What I WOULD do every day if I could that I'm not degreed in or awarded in or anything else is: 1. rescue dogs 2. sea kayak 3. play with swords 4. tai chi

@Helen Pryse Lloyd - it's how I get my arm exercise! 🤣
Is it actually good to show you’re getting older in business?
I’d genuinely love your thoughts on this… I’ve connected with a lot of new people on LinkedIn lately, and I’ll be honest, so many of the profile photos look like they’re at least 10 years out of date. The grey hairs are now there, the wrinkles have joined the party… but the photos haven’t changed. And with all the noise online about people 40+ being replaced by AI or younger talent, it got me thinking 👇 Should we be trying to “cover up” and look younger, hair dye, filters, old photos, just to stay competitive? Or… Should we be embracing our age and owning the wisdom, experience, and stability that only time can give us? I’m genuinely curious how you see it. Does showing your real age help or hurt your business presence? And if you’re 40+, have you felt the pressure to appear younger?

I want my hair to go all white and get it over with! If I'm the Sage of Peace, I'd better look the part! 🤣
