AI?! 😭 😁🥰🤮
My dear composers! I've been pondering over AI now for a bit... But I'm curious... What are your thoughts? About it in music, for other tasks, for life stuff, your predictions.... How are ya' FEELIN' about AI ? Terrified? Excited? Angry? Wanting to throw a grand piano off an 11 story building? Curious to hear your thoughts Share them below 👇

@John Isley Yeah I would agree with this. AI is the most average of the most average. The most probable. If you dig into any of the great composers, you'll always find LOADS of random, strange decisions. Ones that don't make sense and are unexpected.
What are you listening to? 🎶
What have you been listening to? Any gems? Any new finds? Any inspirations? Share below👇 I've randomly been really into this piece by Sibelius https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HrrtL5rl5io&list=RDHrrtL5rl5io&start_radio=1

Emails
Luke, Will you be posting your emails here? Your one from the other day is very true for me. I am seemingly always writing for a specific audience. I write etudes for particular instruments at particular levels. I write easily sung music for congregations and small choirs, in most cases setting a lyricist friend’s text. I write solos for beginning and intermediate bassoon and recorder players. I arrange pieces for woodwind quintet or double reed ensemble. Yeah, maybe kinda niche, but it also sets out parameters for me, points me in a direction, and limits my options. It helps getting started into focus and provides some sort of initial step. Then I can go from there. Rare is the time I write music for myself. Closest I come are the piano parts to wind solos, when I’m not limited technically. So yes, I do think having a target audience is beneficial. For me, that audience is most often participating in the music making rather than being a consumer of the music. I don’t know it that makes a difference, I want the music to be both fun to perform and technically accessible for the performers as well as enjoyable for the listeners.

@Angela Salvaggione I will probably post some of them here! Will be a case by case basis. Have you ever tried writing for a single person?
Feedback on your music?
Well hello... I wanted to let you all know we had an amazing time in our first composing flow! Music was made and snacks were eaten. 🍕 Many more to come... Big shouts to everyone that joined! I personally made some great progress on a little score for a short film I'm working on. 📽️ Towards the end of the call, one composer asked if we could incorporate some musical feedback into our flows... Which got me thinking... Would it be useful to have a live session where you could get feedback on your music? I have a bit of an "unconventional" approach to feedback that I learned from a mentor (Mike Monday). I find that when I've used it myself, it lets me immediately see what's wrong with my music... And really changes the way I listen to what I'm working on.🔈 Let me know if that's something you'd like! Click your choice in the poll below.

👀 START HERE: Welcome! 🎼💰
Welcome, friend. You found the place. Let me tell you what this is, because it's not another theory group. There are a thousand places on the internet to learn orchestration, mixing, and which strings library to buy next. This is not one of them! Your music is (probably) already good enough to start. That might be the most controversial sentence in this whole community. This is a place for taking action and finding your Freedom to Compose. Where music gets the best hours of your day, the right people actually hear it, and yes, it rewards you back. 🎼 Whether that means full time, part time, or just a good time. All three count here. Around here we believe gigs come from relationships, not job boards. That composers get connected, not discovered. And that "exposure" is something you die from on a mountain, not a payment method. And that the whole thing, outreach and all, can actually be FUN! Who this is for: Composers who want their music out in the world, their first real gig, or their next substantial one... And are willing to talk to actual humans to get it! Who this is NOT for: Hobbyists collecting courses... Theory debaters... And anyone waiting to feel ready. No shame in any of those. This just isn't the room. Now do three things before you do anything else 👇 1. Say howdy below and tell us where in the world you're writing from. I read every single one! Welcome aboard, you filthy little composer, you. Let's get your music out of the hard drive and into the world. Luke
