New all time high, highest rated win
This game was a bit sloppy but I just beat back to back former 2000 elo players to reach my new high of 1820 Check out this #chess game: DewiCinta09 vs HopewellChessNB - https://www.chess.com/live/game/146643247136

way to go!!!!
OTB?
Hey everyone my rapid peak is around 1100 (though my games swing all over the place lol). I’m wondering if training or playing more over-the-board actually helps with getting more consistent. Anyone here do OTB stuff or have meetups? Kinda curious what the experience is like.

OTB for me is the best way to improve i’ve played tons of over the board tournaments and when i got into online chess my rating shot up.

@Tanner Olson tournaments probably helped the most because of the seriousness and a requirement to focus for them

@Nevin Godin-Martin yeah i’d say that’s pretty helpful i wish i had that kind of success with either opening both white and black are pretty much the same for me

@Nevin Godin-Martin well yeah i’m already way above the skill required i just haven’t tried
Rapid Peak
New All time High in Rapid Took me a long time to actually push past my previous peak of 2265 which I had set all the way in March and retied in July. I am now only 4 games away from my goal of 2300 and with the way I am currently playing it is very achievable. I hope this is a motivator to everyone trying to improve because I have gone up quite a bit in not a long time by learning what my style is and playing according to that.

@Nevin Godin-Martin have you ever checked openingtree.com you can see what you’re really struggling with in particular its pretty helpful to visualize

@Nevin Godin-Martin yeah highly likely it’s not purely the openings but maybe middle games arising from them and you’re lost or you’re simply unlucky quite often in the endgame
Black Positional Opening (Also Aggressive if you Can.)
I play the Catalan Opening for white; currently around 850+ Elo, I usually win a lot of game with the Catalan Game however whenever I played Black (White moves E4), I lost a lot usually; is there any good opening that I can play?

I usually play caro kann but french caro or sicilian are all incredibly solid and depends on your playstyle.
