I’ve been tucked away, getting settled… but we are back!!
message for today 🤍 “whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.” - Matthew 10:39 sometimes following Jesus means letting go of the life we thought we wanted so we can receive the life He actually has for us… and that’s not always easy. sometimes it means letting go of certain people, habits, desires, plans, or even old versions of ourselves. but in Matthew 10:39, Jesus is reminding us that when we surrender our life to Him, we’re not really losing anything. we’re making room for something greater. a life with real purpose, real freedom, and most importantly, a life that brings us closer to Him. so today, ask yourself… what am i still holding onto that Jesus has been asking me to let go of? 🤍

I’m glad you’re back I look forward to these! I went ahead and read chapter 10 in the book of Matthew and would like to add that upon verse 39, verse 34 talks about how Jesus didn’t come to bring peace to the actual earth but to bring peace within us. So don’t expect being on earth to be easy, it won’t be. But with Christ, you can have a strong foundation that keeps you grounded through it all, one that produces the fruits of the Spirit. “Matthew 10:34-35 Not Peace, but a Sword [34] “Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. [35] For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.” Once you pick up your cross with Jesus that doesn’t mean life automatically becomes easy, it means you’ll never have to do it with Him. Christ allows us to gain something much greater than the world could ever offer. Pondering on how hard it’s been letting go of my vices, but the thought of keeping them makes me feel sick.

God is so good, thank you JESUS. Brenda is tearing this sermon up right now.
today’s message 🤍
Luke 12:1–3 “Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.” — Luke 12:1 one thing i’m learning is that Jesus isn’t just concerned with what people see, He’s concerned with who we are when no one is watching. hypocrisy doesn’t always look like pretending to be perfect. sometimes it looks like saying we trust God while secretly relying on ourselves. it looks like knowing His Word but not allowing it to transform our hearts. it can even look like serving in ministry while neglecting intimacy with Him. Jesus calls hypocrisy “leaven” because it spreads. if it’s left unchecked, a small compromise can slowly influence every area of our lives. verses 2–3 remind us that nothing hidden stays hidden forever. that isn’t meant to make us afraid, it’s an invitation to live honestly before God. He already sees every hidden struggle, every motive, every secret place of our hearts, and He still invites us to come to Him in repentance rather than performance. today, don’t focus on looking like a Christian. focus on being with Christ. let your private life reflect your public confession. the goal isn’t perfection… it’s a heart that’s surrendered and willing to be transformed. prayer: Father God, search my heart and reveal anything in me that doesn’t reflect You. remove every trace of hypocrisy and help me to live with integrity, loving You in private just as much as I profess You in public. make my heart genuine, my motives pure, and my life pleasing to You. in Jesus’ name, Amen!
