Luke 12:1–3 “Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.” — Luke 12:1 one thing i’m learning is that Jesus isn’t just concerned with what people see, He’s concerned with who we are when no one is watching. hypocrisy doesn’t always look like pretending to be perfect. sometimes it looks like saying we trust God while secretly relying on ourselves. it looks like knowing His Word but not allowing it to transform our hearts. it can even look like serving in ministry while neglecting intimacy with Him. Jesus calls hypocrisy “leaven” because it spreads. if it’s left unchecked, a small compromise can slowly influence every area of our lives. verses 2–3 remind us that nothing hidden stays hidden forever. that isn’t meant to make us afraid, it’s an invitation to live honestly before God. He already sees every hidden struggle, every motive, every secret place of our hearts, and He still invites us to come to Him in repentance rather than performance. today, don’t focus on looking like a Christian. focus on being with Christ. let your private life reflect your public confession. the goal isn’t perfection… it’s a heart that’s surrendered and willing to be transformed. prayer: Father God, search my heart and reveal anything in me that doesn’t reflect You. remove every trace of hypocrisy and help me to live with integrity, loving You in private just as much as I profess You in public. make my heart genuine, my motives pure, and my life pleasing to You. in Jesus’ name, Amen!
