🚨 New Music Added to the Salsa Heritage Playlists 🚨
One of the fastest ways to improve your musicality isn't learning more patterns... It's listening with intention. I've just expanded the Salsa Heritage Playlists inside the classroom with new music and listening resources to help you better understand the rhythms, traditions, and evolution of salsa music. You'll now find playlists focused on: 🎵 Salsa On1 🎵 Salsa On2 🥁 Conga Tumbao 🔑 2/3 Clave 🔑 3/2 Clave 🎸 Syncopated Bass 🌍 Afro 6/8 Rhythms These playlists are designed to help you hear what great dancers hear and connect more deeply to the music that drives your movement. Find these playlists in the classroom tab under the "Salsa Heritage Playlist" Take some time this week to explore them and let me know: 👉 Which playlist are you most excited to dive into? Drop a comment below and share what you're listening to. — Musa 🎶💃🏽🕺🏽

in the musicality training playlist I found two songs named "Yambu" in a list with a 6/8 tempo. As far as I know, Yambu is usually in a 4/4 tempo. Is there anything special about these two songs?

I started learning to dance casino ten years ago, and six years after that I began teaching myself son montuno and danced that for two or three years. Now I've started learning newyork on2 again. In the meantime I've been to countless social dance parties, but it seems like there isn't much overlap among salsa enthusiasts of these three styles - they're connecting with each other using their own moves instead of the music, so there's no universal way to lead and follow. That's the awkward situation I'm dealing with right now
