Live Clownversation Happening... in 3 hours!
I am appearing on a live "clownversation" with Barnaby King, founder of the Clownvergence and Clown-Spirit Village. It might be more accurate to say that he will be having a clownversation with me, as it is his platform. Nevertheless, I will be there, and as you know, clowns are agents of chaos, so who knows what is actually going to happen. The only way we will know is by showing up! It's Live, so if you want to show up and ask questions in the chat, feel free! If not, it will still be available after the fact! Hope to see you there!

Ah the time difference! Do you have to be a member to see the recording or do you have a link please? Hope it was fun!
What's your Creative Practice?
Was listening to a podcast today and it said something about when you get stuck, you need to return to your creative practice, and it made me think it would be a good topic to start here. I try to do my creative work in two phases-- in the morning just after I have woken up and I am still in the dreamy phase (and I often find that I have great ideas in the shower, so I try to write them down and noodle them. I try to do my business stuff in the afternoon (when it's morning in the states) I also have an afternoon energy burst around 4-6 pm, and I try to get some writing or rehearsing in then. If it's a performance day, that sometimes gets cut into if I have to drive/get ready. And sometimes I don't have that burst, so it doesn't happen. On the weekends, I typically spend Sunday mornings at a cafe writing. So what's your practice? How do you get better at what you do?

I write notes after performances what worked, what new ideas sparked. I try to play the character in day to day scenarios when Iโ€™m alone doing chores etc. or voice record phases or how they might sound. As for writing, I try to jot notes as soon as I think of them on my phone or my journal and usually these are dreamed, so as soon as I wake up!
How Many Lightbulbs Does It Take To Change A Clown?
Over on LinkedIn @Andrew Cory asked this question, and I thought it would warrant answering here. Whatโ€™s your punchline answer?

Starting new things
Hi all ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿผ Just wanted to say, if thereโ€™s something you want to see that doesnโ€™t existโ€ฆ. Build it!!! Maybe somebody else was missing it too. All it takes is a bit of admin and open arms. Iโ€™m starting a new improv group and we are just going to meet at my place until we get enough consistency to hire a rehearsal space. Wish me luck!

So I had 8 people turn up! And 4 wanted to come too but I didnโ€™t have room in my lounge room. So we are gonna hire a spot! Yippee

My first time
I don't want to overstep, but I would love to get some more feedback on my first try at stand-up.

@Kevin Koszarek WELL DONE Not easy getting up there and it sounded like you had all original material and no notes! So good on you. The hand gestures were a bit distracting but I think that they were from nerves. Half the battle is just realising we do these unconscious things, so I always film every set, helps me see what the audience sees. Alternatively pump up the jumpy energy and make it your signature move lol. They love when you acknowledge stuff like that too (being vulnerable) so you could also do a calming breath and call it out.
