💊 Take Your MEDS Challenge – S = Sleep
Last week of the challenge - How did you do with D (Diet) last week? Me - not so good.🥧🦃🍰 How much sleep do you get on average? Most adults require 7-8 hours per night. Here are a few sleep tips to help: ✅Create a wind-down routine (about 15 minutes) – Deep breathing, light stretching, reading (non-work), prayer/meditation. ✅Protect your last 60 minutes from screens. ✅Cut caffeine by 2 p.m. ✅Sleep in a cold room (65-68). ✅Get your thoughts out of your head before bed – Write down anything on your mind and tell your brain you’ll handle it tomorrow. ✅Get 5-10 minutes of sunlight within an hour of waking up. ⁉️What will you do to improve your sleep? Cutting out caffeine by 2pm is a challenge for me. And I really need to reduce my screen time at the end of the day.

I mean eat foods that nourish your body – protein, fruits, veggies. Limit sugar and processed foods. Hiring a new Executive Director and another staff resigned this week. We are a small staff of around 20 but the turnover never seems to stop.
💊 Take Your MEDS Challenge – E = Exercise & Movement
It’s Week 2 of the Challenge, and we’re focusing on exercise and movement. I know… cue the collective groan. Most of us have room to improve here! The CDC recommends about 30 minutes of activity most days, but the real key is this: do something you actually enjoy. If you hate running, don’t force yourself to train for a 5K. If you like to dance, try Zumba or a dance class. For those of us with desk jobs, remember sitting is the new smoking. Try to get up and stretch, walk, or move every couple of hours. 👉 SHARE: What’s one small thing you’ll do this week to move more? Don’t forget — sharing each week enters you into the prize drawing!

We have a beautiful campus at work and I try to walk around it, especially if it has been a challenging or stressful day. At home, it's a walk in the neighborhood, a short spin on a stationary bike, or pilates. I'm dealing with back issues (desk job=smoking is a real thing!) and these are most helpful to me.
