Yea this set is a welcome return to the in-world high fantasy of old. Love it
Ideas for Growing & Improving this community?
As the title says, are there obvious things/ideas/tips you would like to see added here? Let's brainstorm! At the moment, I am trying to get content creators on board to either promote this group or at least join as members.

@Mathias Szegedi I also like the idea! Brainstorming deck ideas with one another. A collective brew session if you will. Very cool. A plea to consider GMT - but no worries if that’s just too hard

@Mathias Szegedi not sure what others reckon, but maybe a monthly brew clinic would be a cool thing?
Where Do You Think Magic Will Be In 5 Years?
With the ever-increasing pace of UB and more and more products coming, where do you think Magic will be in 5 years? Will there still be a solid "Magic core" to the game or will it be more of a game system that is licensed out to all kinds of different franchises?

I don’t even play standard but I can see why people are cheesed off. Commander players tend to be a bit different… more casual I guess. But equipping Cloud with Donattelo’s stick and casting a spiderweb on someone’s creature isn’t just a break from MtG IP and lore, it’s a confused soup of recycled ideas from across various decades. It’s not the fantasy experience I want from the game. But if you’re asking whether I’ve put a Mithril Coat on my Wolverine… yes. Yes I have. So clearly the game system and the gathering still hold enough appeal. If they made an Omen Paths version of every UB card they’ve made I’d 100% go with those.
How do you feel about proxies?
I haven't bought paper in years, but I've been considering getting into Commander as a casual player. But rather then spend the money on real cards, I was considering proxies. I'm wondering how people feel about that? Would I be shunned by other players?

Hi Chris. My experience has been that casual commander is super chilled about proxies. It probably depends on playgroups, but provided people don’t see you jamming every super expensive card into every deck, I don’t think people would mind. Whenever I mention to a pod I don’t know that I’m playing with proxies, most the time it’s met with.. ‘so are we!’ I tend to play a newly built deck as proxies and if after 3 or 4 games it’s clear it’s a keeper, I’ll buy the paper. That’s more out of personal preference to own the cards than anything else. Good luck with your entry into Casual Commander!

Couldn’t agree more with the above. My playgroup has recently been building £50 budget decks, and it’s opened up a whole new card pool for us to get excited about. It’s a really good way of avoiding the inflationary creep towards all the popular ‘good cards’ and the potential for generic decks emerging. That said, the way @Nick's Lotus brews and builds decks… that’s The Way! Never generic, never crazy on the wallet, always super cool and original. One of my favourite decks came from an idea he had about using Gimli with Eldrazi Scions. It’s now at a point where it’s really tuned and really fun to play. Shout out to that man!
Hidetsugu & Kairi
Hey people. I’m currently brewing Hidetsugu and Kairi and want to go a sac & save route (sac them for value, play a Feign Death effect). I think I’d prefer this to the more obvious copy & trigger the legendary rule route. My other reason for the choice is it’ll potentially cost less mana to do it this way (sac and save can be done for one or two mana). Mostly though, I wanna avoid the perception of blue copy nonsense at the table. The other restriction is I don’t wanna put any extra turns in there (which are probably the most powerful way to build them for damage bombs and crazy value free extra turns). Problem: the sac and save route triggers H&K the wrong way around. Copying them doesn’t. Any ideas. Ps I’ve been playing around 2 years and there’s tons I don’t fully grasp yet, and loads I’m likely to be missing when I look at it. Any ideas gratefully received! So incredibly helpful! Thanks. This was the bit I wasn’t seeing. I’m two years into playing Magic and have never built something that would require me to think about resolving multiple triggers in the order of my choice. Absolute game changer (in the original sense of the word!). Thanks @Mathias Szegedi

I’ve never played Arena. But that sounds useful! I’m in a playgroup of relative newcomers like me, so we’re learning together which isn’t always the best. Probably missing tons of stuff.
