Working in music marketing as a Producer/Artist
Would you want to work with a music marketer who also makes music? Would a music marketing company even hire an artist or producer to be on their team?

In my opinion, I think that it'll would help you a lot and also others that you work with. But I want to know what you guys think about making the move to be a music marketer whilst working on your music career.
Mixing
What do you guys think are the best plugins to mix vocals that are underrated ( use the replies as an opportunity to make your mix sound better )

@James Mamouzette Well the settings really all depend on what problems you want correct. You would want to have a multi-band compressor in the first few order of your plugin chain, Usually after you've done some subtractive eqing(cutting certain frequencies), normal compression (just to control peaks and get a more consistent level), and de-essing (reducing those sss and those tss that may be present in the vocal). Its about what you actually need instead of just using for the sake of using it. So as far as settings go just to give you some areas to work in with the multi-band compressor, start by identifying on the frequency spectrum, what areas in your vocal are causing boomyness/muddiness (around the 100hz to 350hz range) boxiness (around 300hz to 500hz range), honkyness/nasal (around 700hz to 4khz range), and sibilance (around 4khz to 8khz range). After that I would just lower the threshold in those areas that are causing the those problems. All of that is give or take depending on your vocals.

I know it's a lot but it's more than just give a preset and you apply it. You would have to find out what problems are having with your vocal specifically so that you can do what's best for that particular vocal.
Releasing on YouTube and SoundCloud instead of DSPs
Should I try dropping music on YouTube and SoundCloud only to build my releases as oppose to dropping on DSPs? Will there be any benefit to only dropping on music on YT and SC? Im not sure if anyone else feels like this, but when I release music on DSPs, I feel this urge to make my music be perfect because it's dropping on Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon, etc. Like I said, I just want to drop as much as possible without this pressure that I put on myself to make my music perfect. Please feel free to share your thoughts on this and enlighten me with your insight.

@Jeff Craft why avoid YouTube?
would you ever use AI to write music?
so i was playing around with chat gpt recently and found out it's lowkey nice with the pen. which led me to wonder ... would you ever use artificial intelligence to write music?

It depends for me for when I'm stuck and may want to get an external source to feed me ideas but I wouldn't use it without tweaking it to my liking. I feel like the responses it gives are "corny", generic, or even tired. In my opinion, I think it's just like going to a partner or a collaborator to get inspired, ideas, etc. Everyone should at least give a try as it is fun to see what it comes up with but don't take it seriously.
Intro
What's up every one! I'm London but I do go by Londo as it is my stage name that I use for my career in music but feel free to call me either. Im from and currently live in Atlanta, Ga. I'm new here and just want to introduce myself. I produce, write, record, and mix music and I primarily deal with Hip-Hop and R&B with an interest in Gospel and other genres. I'm here to just soak up as much game as I can and figure out how to navigate the music industry my way and not the way it's been done by others for many years. Please feel free to give me a follow on instagram @1Londo!
