@Caden Showers Glad you are thinking ahead about your flight knowledge. My advice would be to study and pass the written test for each rating before you start the flying portion. By doing this you will make your airplane time count by not just learning on the fly. Believe me it is easier to learn the principles of an ILS on the ground, instead of the multiple pressures of flying the airplane, ATC, the ILS, AND your own expectations. For example, I am 17 and a 1/2, waiting for my instrument check ride. But in the mean time I am studying for my written tests for Commercial and CFI/FOI.
