So happy to have you here Sarah!
CALL TO POST for our new members!
Hey everyone! With so many new members joining lately, it feels like the perfect time for a little reintroduction. And I have a slightly nerve-wracking challenge for our newest folks: if you’ve been in the group for less than six months, I invite you to post a video of yourself singing here. Pick something you love—something that makes you feel good and confident. This is not a feedback moment. No critiques. No teachable moments. Just a celebration of the courage it takes to sing and share your voice. 🎶 I also want to say thank you for being so patient with me over the last few months. I’ve been very busy with work, and I was also quite sick for a while. (Maybe I’ll share more about that another time—but for now I’m just grateful to be slowly getting better.) I’m so grateful that you’re all here, and I’m really looking forward to hearing your voices! 💛

@Ashley Jasper Styles I also find voice work so healing. Thank you so much for sharing! You’ve got such a naturally sweet and easy tone. I also clear my throat a lot when singing without warming up! Haha. Have you ever used a net pot? It helps with some of the phlegminess that gets rustled up while singing. Thank you again for sharing!

@Ashley Jasper Styles sorry, I meant a neti pot. It just helps to clear things out a bit https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/common-cold/expert-answers/neti-pot/faq-20058305 There's loads of different brands out there. They make a world of differencen for me!

New members, welcome! This is a new and growing community, so for the time being, we are a small but mighty group! 💪 Let me introduce myself — I’m Lizzy! You can learn more about me and my career as a singer at lizzyclarkemusic.ca, and you can check out my coaching business or book a 1-on-1 lesson at lizzyclarkesinginglessons.ca. The long and the short of it is: I’ve been singing for a very long time. I’ve learned a ton along the way — both as a performer and as an educator — and I’m excited to bring all of that experience here. My hope is that this space becomes a hub for my students and a place where I can share what I know with a wider audience! We currently have two tiers in SING: Standard and Premium. The Standard tier gives you access to the community, shared resources, and group discussions. The Premium tier, though, is still very much under construction — I’m actively building the courses, warm-ups, tools, and deeper training that will live there. Joining now means you’re getting in at the ground floor, which comes with special perks: you’ll have direct influence over what I create next, early access to new lessons as they’re released, and I’ll even build a custom mini-course for you based on what you want to learn. It’s an amazing time to jump in while the foundation is still being shaped! I post new content about 5 times a week (most weeks 😉), and I love creating things based on what you want to learn. So if there’s something you’d like to see turned into a lesson or even a full course, post about it here on the Community page — I’m always checking in for ideas! Here's how it works! 1. Go to the Classroom to browse the growing catalogue of lessons and courses. 2. Explore, learn, and sing! 3. Post your progress here on the community page! Anytime you post yourself singing (you can attach audio and video using the 📎 button OR link to a social post) begin your post with one of the two headers below!

Let's Talk About Singing
Hey singers! 🎤 Tell me something that has confused you about singing. Maybe it’s: What is diaphragmatic breathing, actually? What’s the difference between head voice and falsetto? Why do some teachers say one thing and others say the complete opposite? There is so much vague information and conflicting advice out there, and it can make learning to sing feel way more complicated than it needs to be. What’s something you’ve bumped into that made you go,“Wait… what does that even mean?” Drop it below. Let’s untangle it together.

@Eric Casper It's a harder question to answer than you might think! Here's a (somewhat convoluted) answer to the questions "What are the head and chest voices?" https://www.skool.com/sing-it-out-6158/classroom/e8055051?md=8cc1f134a2624b439557a9b61e5b6aca Here is an EVEN MORE convoluted answer. I wrote this blog years ago when I was first getting into vocal function and anatomy. https://lizzyclarkesinginglessons.ca/blog/ridiculous-history-of-registration
