I don’t know if someone telling us that really works to get most people to believe it… but eventually we all learn it at some point… hopefully sooner rather than later But, it’s great to hear this reminder often!! It helps to bring things back into focus when we get distracted by being driven by the wrong goals (again 😬)
Anyone watch the Bear?
Any of you guys watch “The Bear”? I ate at Matty Matheson’s restaurant, Rizzo’s House of Parm tonight. OMG. Best Italian I’ve had in a long time. Friggin’ fantastic. If you’re ever going to be in the Fort Erie/Crystal Beach area, they only take reservations, so call ahead. Get the “Chef’s Menu”, you won’t be disappointed.

Lol. So a movie from the 80’s came to my mind when I saw the post title 😜 It was actually really good!
Scripting for Speed
Let me guess. You have a killer idea for a comic or graphic novel bouncing around in your head. Maybe you have had it for months. Years, even. But every time you sit down to write the script, you get stuck somewhere around page three, staring at the blinking cursor like it owes you money. Here is the thing. Most creators treat comic scripting like writing a novel. They agonize over every word, build elaborate outlines, and wait for inspiration to strike. Meanwhile, the project sits unfinished in a dusty folder on their desktop. After 30 years as a writer, I can tell you that waiting for inspiration is a luxury professionals do not have. Deadlines do not care about your muse. And the good news is that the same approach that gets news stories filed on time can get your comic script done faster than you ever thought possible. Even better, you do not need expensive software to make it happen. You probably already own everything you need. Read the full article at: #Scripting for Speed Using Software You Already Own

Thank you! This was so good, and helpful! It gave me an idea of where/how to start, and some steps to follow. (I only have an idea for a comic series in my head, but it stays in there because honestly I had no idea how to move it from in there, to out here!) I’m a long-form writer at heart, and have zero art skills 😜 Pretty sure I have Scrivener, but have never started using it! Me am tres disappoint
In case you haven’t heard, I’m a little less active right bow because I’m dealing with excruciating dental pain. Hoping to get it fixed this week. Encouraging thoughts and tips on how to remove a back molar myself appreciated.

@Mike Gagnon I had two back molars, one on each side needed to come out. Root canal was ridiculously expensive, and can cause problems of its own down the road. I just had them both removed in one trip, and I can still chew just fine and have been completely pain-free for a few years now!

@Mike Gagnon the trailer makes me think it’s like a cyber punk comic strip, which I would not be interested in reading… but I did click through on your preview link in the post which showed chapters of just dialogue ( I haven’t read any of it yet ) maybe this dialogue becomes the cartoon strip? And would want to know the rating. I’m kind of a hallmark type girl… action/suspense and some reality are fine, but I don’t want the details of a bedroom encounter, or a bunch of traumatic inducing violence.

@Mike Gagnon ok, I’ll read the preview. Probably can read it later tonight if I’m up late.
