How's your weekend?
It's still not winter here, but the morning brought us a nice surprise...

So if there is snow, and you are still saying winter’s not here… you may be in just a bit of denial 😜😂

Premium
Okay, @Faith Adebayo inspired me again. This is a post for premium tier members. I'll be sending notifications here. If you're on the premium tier or just curious about what this is all about, please click the 🔔 icon in the top right of this post. This is a workaround, so that I can communicate with the members on the premium plan without spamming the members on the free plan 🙏 Because personally I don't like when someone talks about something, sends me a link and then it turns out it's behind a paywall. With the tools I have available, I'll try to minimize those kinds of situations.

Great work around idea!

@Marcin Hakemer-Fernandez would love to connect with you all again, but I will be boarding an airplane soon ✈️
We're not getting tiered categories for now...
Which sucks because I'd like to not spam free members with premium gated content. So I'll try to send as little premium notifications as possible. After the Skool news call I'll be doing a live call for the premium tier, just to talk shop. But like I said, I won't be creating a post every time. I'll also do a why I love tiers and why I hate tiers video to try to lobby them adding the tiered category functionality. @Faith Adebayo thank you for the tip!

@Marcin Hakemer-Fernandez but in the case of the hobby plan I bet they had ALOT of “on the fence folks” finally jump in because it was no longer $100 to get started. And as you grow I think the tools in the more expensive group price would make it worth it.

@Marcin Hakemer-Fernandez true. At this point, when I start something I’d be choosing between Skool and another platform that does already allow for separate level conversations within one membership (though the other isn’t nearly as aesthetically pleasing as skool is!) so this option being added would make the decision much easier for me!
🎨 I got a special present from a friend
Small deeds can go a long, long way. A couple of years ago, I gave a friend a coloring book. He's an artist, and at that time, he didn't have the money to buy the coloring book, but it was a very special coloring book that he could only get at that time, and probably he would not have gotten that book in the future, even if he had the money. He'd probably forget or something similar to that. I knew this. So I bought him that coloring book at that time and I gifted it to him. And I totally forgot about it. Now, yesterday I got a package from him. He said he wanted me to look at this thing and give my opinion. So I had no idea what it was. I opened it and it turned out to be this beautiful painting that he did for me. And it took him a couple of years to actually do it. Of course, he did it in his free time. That's why it took so long. But it's just amazing. And he actually went and got a specialist to put a frame around it. He told me that after he got that book, things changed for him. He rediscovered his artistic side, and it helped him in different ways. And that's why he started thinking of a way to give back. That's when he decided to do the painting for me. The painting is amazing. We both practice Falun Dafa, which is a Chinese meditation practice that is heavily persecuted in China. And Because of that this painting has an additional layer of meaning to me. So I just wanted to share this with all of you. I hope you're having a wonderful Friday.

Great story highlighting how incredible the ripple effect of small things done can turn into amazing big things with a reach far and wide (As I’d suspect that the ripples from that humble coloring book gift will continue on in many more ways you may never know 💝) I even have a t-shirt on this morning that says, “The little things are the big things”

@Marcin Hakemer-Fernandez I don’t know what the meditation type you mentioned is (and I’m resisting the squirrel saying… come on, let’s go look!!🤦🏼‍♀️) but according to various theories we are all one on some level 🤔
🔵 Skool Video Upload Speeds 🔵
So how fast are the upload speeds of the videos you upload to Skool, compared to something like YouTube? I don't know, but Skool feels much slower. But is it? I'll test this at one point. Currently I think the feeling is connected the animation for the upload. With YouTube you see the time and when it's processing you can close the browser tab. With Skool you need to keep it open, especially if you have a post or are adding a video to your about page. The images below show the Skool upload panel vs Youtube. I hope we get a video library at one point, so if we create a new post or classroom page, we can reuse videos that we already uploaded. Concluding, I think Skool just feels slower (I do a lot of YouTube uploading).

As a “watcher” of these video I run into alot of frozen stuck points which has been frustrating… I used to get much better results when I could just click through to the source and watch it there. There’s been more than one video I haven’t been able to finish in various groups, but end up with no way to try and watch it elsewhere.

@Marcin Hakemer-Fernandez My assumption has been that if I can’t view it at the source it must be native? If this isn’t true then I could be wrong about the problems coming from native videos. I do alot on my phone, so maybe that’s part of the issue? 🤷🏼‍♀️ (but my phone has really good connection with really good video playing) and clicking through to youtube always works very well. Most recent was a frozen classroom video. My only recourse is I have to back out of everything (like leave a classroom if it’s a course video, and try again from the beginning…) Then trying to move it ahead to where I left off definitely causes problems, as does anytime I want to speed it up. (Here’s where I just skip it all… some people talk sooo slow even on 2x they sound practically normal 🤦🏼‍♀️)
