Weekly Challenge is Back!
I've been thinking we should bring back the weekly challenge, so here it is 😁 This week, the challenge is to PAUSE. Using the acronym PEACE, try to incorporate this each day for at least 5 minutes. Pause Exhale Acknowledge / Accept Change Engage Check into this thread daily this week to keep accountability. This is where REAL RECALIBRATION happens - when we make conscious decisions to observe our thoughts and not cling to them. Do this practice outdoors if you can. Just 5 minutes! Who's in?!

Day 1 (Tuesday) didn't have to look far today, we have these lovely little flowers outside the office building at work. I took time to view them, notice how the sun hits them differently and how the colours contrast with the urban area around. I noticed how I felt when viewing them. Calm, at peace, and present.

@Amanda Cunningham-Gray I feel that, we can often get stuck in a cycle of worrying about things like cost etc that we forget to be present and enjoy the now. I'm so glad you felt able to do that and the benefits is clear to see as you seem to have really enjoyed yourself. LOVE the tattoo! 🤩
Woodland Craft challenge!
Right folks, got another wee challenge for you all. Let's see everyone's Swedish candles. Here's a mini one I've made and it's use really is just as a small campside candle, not your usual big stump sized one that can be used for cooking etc. A fun wee challenge to practice those carving & crafting skills! Lots of instructions online but you can find a short brief below: •Saw off a small chunk of branch •Baton into 4 pieces •Carve a small groove in each piece making sure to keep them all relative in size. •Place each piece back together & secure with cordage (bonus points for natural, I used twine here) •Melt wax or pine resin and fill the 'cup' •Place a wick inside and allow to harden Then: 📷 Share a photo of the finished product! Member who's candle looks the best will receive a shout out & pinned post! 🌿🔪🪵

@Amanda Cunningham-Gray it's a great little activity. Be a great thing for you and your son to do 😁
Favourite Childhood Outdoor Activity?
Do you have a favourite childhood outdoor activity that you can remember doing? It doesn't have to be the intricate carving with your granddad's penknife but equally that's great too! - Mine? being outdoors during the summer holidays, the freshly cut grass smell, my friends chapping on my door to see if I was 'coming oot to play' and then us all racing from the top of the council estate to the bottom, jumping fences and trying not to get caught! Great fun, even funnier if a friend was caught and being given a row 😅 Good times Anyone else want to reminisce 😁 Kids these days just won't have the same memories!

@Michael Lohse I suspect many of us in here did. We just need to pass that on to the next gen 👍🏼

@Amanda Cunningham-Gray having the sea nearby must have been brilliant!
Adventure Club outing
Our first off-site adventure with the adventure club today. @Will Holland and I had a great time watching these young adventurers explore the area, find bugs, and learn first aid along the way. We had the weather for it and what a great bunch of kids these guys are. Key skills these guys are showing on a regular basis are: - Empathy & care for their fellow group members - Resilience when things get difficult - Problem solving and pulling on one another's strengths - Learning new skills regularly - Communication & conflict resolution Very proud of this group.
