🪵 Something's Coming
Starting tomorrow morning I'm dropping a full field series from the Satilla River. Seven days. Real footage. Real conditions. Real mistakes. Two pines down bank to bank. A 200-yard portage. Frozen steaks turned PBJ by headlamp. Fire on first strike in fading light. A sandbar dinner at sunset. A moon over the river at 1:30 AM. One river. Two nights. Three days. Follow along starting tomorrow. Field notes drop every morning. 🌲 Where the Map Ends, The WILD begins!! Stay Rugged.

🪵🌙 Evening Check-In
Fire's low. Day's done. Simple question before you settle in 👇 You're planning your next trip. One thing has to go — you can't take it all. What gets left behind? A) The comfort item 🛏️ B) The extra food 🍳 C) The backup gear 🎒 D) The technology 📱 Drop your letter + one line. What's the hardest thing to leave at the truck? Where the Map Ends, The WILD begins!! Stay Rugged.

Some of the back-up gear, it's good to keep some back up stuff should something happen, but you don't want to overdo it.

Before you crash tonight… What’s one win from today you don’t wanna forget? Could be tiny. Could be big. Still counts. ✅ Drop it in one line 👇 Where the Map Ends, The WILD begins!! Stay Rugged.

Spent quality time with my granny, mum and son outdoors 😌
Cook kit court. 🎒🍳
You’re rolling in late and you’ve got 10 minutes before it’s dark. You only get ONE cook item. A) Pot B) Pan C) Kettle D) Mug Pick one + why. And what’s the one meal you can pull off with it when you’re tired? Where the Map Ends, The WILD begins!! Stay Rugged.

Hmm I'd go for pot as I feel it can do the job of each of the others. Need a drink? Drink from the pot (mug), want to boil water? Boil it in the pot (kettle), need to fry something - do it in the pot (pan)... It'll involve a good bit of washing up but if we only have 1 item, that would happen anyways. You could also craft a cup from wood if you wanted a separate item. I'm going A 😁

@Rodney Thompson Outdoor Skills a simple pasta meal is my go-to when tired and dark. Easy and quick.
🔥 Real talk for a minute. 🪵
Some days I wonder if I’m building this the right way. Not quitting. Not doubting the outdoors. Just asking: Is this helping you get better… or just giving you something else to scroll? So I’m gonna ask you straight👇 What has this community helped you improve? Reply like this (one line is fine): ✅ Changed: ________ ➡️ Because: ________ And if it’s “nothing yet” — say that too. No shame. That helps me fix the aim. Where the Map Ends, The WILD begins!! Stay Rugged.

The biggest thing I gain from this community is the opportunity to reflect on one's practice. Some things I do day in day out but real learning comes from reflection.
