ARA-290: The Best Peptide You *Might* Have Never Heard Of
Most of your favorite peptides probably have something to do with weight loss or body composition. That's part of why ARA-290 gets overlooked. It's ultimate purpose is for repair and anti-inflammation. It's a synthetic peptide derived from erythropoietin (EPO) but without the cardiovascular risks. They essentially isolated the repair components that help with neuroprotection and tissue-protection while getting rid of the part that stimulated red blood cell production. ARA-290 binds to something called the innate repair receptor (IRR). These receptors are formed and appear on the outside of localized areas where severe metabolic stress, low oxygen, or tissue injury exists. This is basically a receptor that can be targeted to create a shift in the local environment that may be pro-inflammatory and tissue-damaging and turn it around into a healing and tissue repair environment by reducing cytokine production and enhancing some tissue repair processes. If you read the Immune System course, cytokines are your immune system's inflammatory signaling molecules that are driving inflammation for various reasons throughout the body. In animals, they actually observed long-term relief after sciatic nerve injury, and that relief came FAST. In humans, they've looked at it for small fiber neuropathy. Small fiber neuropathy is the nerve damage that can cause burning, tingling, and pain. In the sarcoidosis group, it significantly helped with neuropathic and autonomic symptoms and 28-days of treatment was actually able to initiate regrowth of small nerve fibers in the cornea. The same thing happened in the type 2 diabetes patients, but they also had a better metabolic profile (so pay attention to that side of things if using). In all populations, there were really no significant adverse effects. From personal experience, I can tell you that within 4 days, my sciatic pain was almost completely gone. Before ARA-290, I was limping around half of the day. The reconstitution protocol is in the classroom over in the paid community as well because this one can be a bit tricky.

I started researching this one last year. Absolutely love it! I reconstitute with 1/2 pbs and 1/2 bac. Next time I'll be using 1/2 pbs and 1/2 pharmacy grade sterile water.

@Samantha Holmes no. It's because over the past 2 1/2 years I've developed a sensitivity to the alcohol in bac. I immediately get a large red very itchy area form. I have to immediately start applying Rx steroid cream to it. If I don't it drives me crazy with irritation and takes days to stop and fade away. I do very clean handling, my peps & fluids are in a zippered case in the fridge too. I've switched to sterile water on other peps already.
Bac water
I am new to peptides and did not realize the difference between regular bac water and hospira. Would reg be ok to use with Reta or should I throw it out and only use hospira. Or what else goes well with the reg Bac water??

@Hack Smith I didn't think they were biased at all I was just saying I watched 2 different interviews with Peter at Janoshik where he said bac water isn't in Europe so they primarily use pharmacy grade sterile water. Maybe what he meant was it isn't manufactured in Europe. I mean honestly if sterile water careful handling practices and Refrigeration works for them why would they bother with Amazon? I mean I'm sure some people do but the way he made it sound was that reconstituting with sterile water was the thing over there

@Hack Smith I meant it in the way of maybe that's what the vendor wants us to believe because we so often hear how Hospira is the holy grail and now vendors are even saying they won't address gelling or other issues unless either tested bac or hospira is used for reconstituting. I use Peter as a reference because he's a scientist who runs one of the most if not the most reputable peptide testing labs. I have to believe he understands the science in general. I'm sure he isn't all knowing on all things but being a professional with his track record I see no reason not to trust him.
Vitiligo Research
Does anyone have experience dosing MT1 or MT2 for vitiligo?

I do not but my mom had vitiligo when she was alive and I know that it's an auto immune disease so researching Thymosin Alpha-1 which is an immune-modulating peptide that regulates T-cell function may be helpful. Because vitiligo is a T-cell-driven autoimmune disorder, users anecdotally stack this peptide in attempts to calm the systemic autoimmune attack on melanocytes. It may be useful in stacking it with MT 2 in your research. I have also heard that researchers in the UK have been looking at GHK-cu. They say it is relevant to vitiligo research where melanocyte loss from oxidative stress-induced apoptosis is a key mechanism meaning — GHK-Cu at low concentrations may preserve melanocytes at risk of oxidative elimination without suppressing melanin synthesis. I have read where the UK has also been studying Snap-8 for the same reasons. Maybe create a MT 2 stack with GHK-cu 1st and run it for 12 weeks to see what happens. The only thing that would worry me is, if your LR's skin has already become patchy and you use the MT 2 to research with, your LR will likely get very much more noticeable uneven patches of skin like the parts that still have pigment will get much darker while the parts that have already lost pigment will get only slightly darker. Don't forget you also need regular UV exposure to activate the effects.
Needles
Please don’t come for me with this question! If I am doing 2 peptides in one night, do you reuse the needle to inject two times or use two separate needles?

You can give yourself hepatitis reusing needles. That is real, I personally know someone who that happened to and it is not at all uncommon. Always use a new needle for each and every poke.
