Artist Dates
Hi friends, Would it be helpful to have this thread to share artist dates and ideas for artist dates? @Lisa David found this article with some great ideas. I'm putting it here and I will put my last couple dates below to share my ideas and what I'm doing. https://www.stephaniescott.art/brushwork/2023/7/4/108-artist-date-ideas

For my artist date this week my daughter and I made these little candle holders at the art museum

@Rebecca Paciorek it was so fun, they had all the supplies at the art museum. It was foil paper that you can draw a design on with a wooden stick. I put them with my LEGO poinsettia and the ceramic house I painted with my older daughter when I moved here because I miss her and my home in Florida
Email- You know you NEED a list!
Let's talk about it so I can help. What are you using now? Do you have a freebie to entice readers? How often are you emailing your list? How often do you WANT to email your list? The most important question... what is STOPPING you from doing this important thing?

My email list is just the Creative Craft Club group right now. I just made a group in my gmail. I am planning to do the club on the Second Sunday of every month, because I love alliteration 😂. I figured this could be a way to grow a list and get people accustomed to getting mail from me
This group is now FREEmium. Please INVITE YOUR AUTHOR FRIENDS.
My goal is to create a community of women that write, learn and experience the author world together. 💕 As a free-with-paid-options group, there are some free gifts 🎁🎉 in the classroom area and the co-working times are free. Writing sprints have been on YouTube so those are also free and people tend to get a lot done when those happen. Our own writing retreat leader @Arden Coutts has lead most of those sprints. I will most likely also have a few free/test opportunities throughout the year and am planning some for the anniversary celebration. @Lisa David has been leading a fun craft club each month and I encourage you to check in with her if you'd like to attend. 🖍 LIVE coaching is paid, various classes and templates are paid features, etc. Members also get almost half price done-for-you services as my rates are over $100 hourly for people just wanting one-off, random services. The first 20 paid members also get their own "class" to showcase their books, wares, etc. In addition, we have a telegram thread for ROUNDTABLE members to chat. April is the 2-year anniversary of my decision to create a membership and I'm ready to grow it for you all. I plan on allowing the free group to expand as people need help AND the paid group will currently not go over 200 people in order to keep the small group feel. (We all know only a small % of people can attend any given live or in-person event.) It's not easy to be a self-published author in the crazy AI and ever changing world of today. I appreciate every one of you that keeps writing for us. My world escape has always been reading and I don't ever think there's enough time for it. (Note on AI: we don't write books with AI but we do use it responsibly for other purposes in here.) When you invite friends to the group, when they decide to become a paid member or they buy things in the classroom, you get affiliate money automatically. It's one of the reasons that I love Skool. It allows me to easily share other people's stuff AND allows you to share mine. It's a great and easy side income stream for authors. I'm also working on a really fun contest for all of you too so stay tuned. 🤓

I just have one question, so if you have the free option, can you still watch the recordings of the Friday meetings? You just can’t attend live?

Also, I noticed that I don’t have a section under the classroom tab? Did I miss something?

@Carlie Yates do you do the Finch app? My oldest daughter got me doing it. It’s a way to remind yourself to do simple acts of self care every day. You can choose what you want to focus on and you get prizes for completing small tasks. One is literally get out of bed.

@Rebecca Paciorek I am also thinking that I should make the Creative Craft Club a regular event for us. If I always do it on the first Sunday of the month at the same time from 1-3 EST, maybe you could add a permanent link to the calendar? I think I will also try to include some coloring sheets every month because then people can always join even if they don’t have a project currently. And I am hoping that eventually I can make coloring sheets for my daughter’s drawings so it could develop into a way to showcase her art.
