9 contributions to Write Your Business Book
📌 Thank you for accepting me to your group.
I believe success is not about doing more, but about doing what matters. That is why I mentor authors, coaches, bloggers, marketers, and other online professionals who want to grow their online presence and build meaningful businesses. Through guidance, clarity, and strategy, I help them align their work with their deeper purpose. On the bookshelf: I have three business books on Amazon, seven on my website and a couple in my Skool communities. I am working on a couple of novels as well. I am looking forward to learning from, and sharing with, members of this group. "The time to find your guide is before you get lost in the woods." Stephen B. Henry, WordPress Wizard & Coach's Coach. What do I actually do?
The other day, someone asked me what I do. I said I coach people to write books. No, they insisted, what do you actually DO? I mean, what's your purpose? I had a really good think about that one. I help consultants, coaches, experts and business owners take all the knowledge and experience they already have and turn it into a business book that people actually want to read and act on. A lot of the people I work with come to me with scattered ideas, half-finished drafts, or just a general sense that they “should” be writing a book but don’t know how to pull it together. So I help them bring structure to that, build confidence in their message, and actually get to a finished manuscript that feels coherent and intentional. Along the way, it’s very much a mix of coaching, practical structure and accountability, because most people don’t need more ideas, they need someone to help them shape and finish what they already know. At the heart of what I do, though, it’s really about making sure their voice doesn’t get lost in the process. I care about helping people say what they really mean in a way that lands clearly, feels compelling, and actually reaches the people it’s meant to help. So it’s not just about getting a book written. It’s about making sure their ideas are properly heard, understood and valued, and that their expertise actually has the impact it deserves. What's your purpose?

@Donna Conrad Thanks for your insight! It does seem to make a lot of sense to have an easy place to work through the material, rather than just read about it in a book! Have you created a companion workbook?

@Donna Conrad nice! We can keep each other motivated!
Why do you really want to write a book?
Before you embark on your writing journey, you need to know why you’re taking this path in the first place. Do you want to explain a topic that you’re passionate about? Do you want to share your expertise or experiences and inspire your reader? What do you hope to make your reader think or feel or do once they’ve read your book? Think for a minute about your reasons for writing. Knowing what you really want and why you want it can be powerful and motivating. Consider the following questions and, if you want to, write the answers in the comments. · MISSION - Why do you want to write? Perhaps you’ve got a burning idea that you just can’t let go of and you need to get it out on paper. Perhaps you really enjoy writing and want to join a supportive community of like-minded writers. Maybe you know there’s an audience out there desperately in need of your book and your expertise, whether they’re seeking personal development, business development, or the intricacies of Japanese fine dining. · SUCCESS - Your definition of ‘success’. Come up with your own definitions of what success means to you and how you’ll feel when you’re a successful – or a more successful – writer. · VISION/LIFESTYLE – What does ‘The Writer’s Lifestyle’ mean to you? Is it even important? From living a rural life, wandering fields and beaches and writing poetry to living in a high-rise apartment with a city view and creating fast-selling e-books, there’s no one-size-fits-all to the definition of The Writer’s Lifestyle. · OBSTACLES - What stops you from writing? Jot down anything that causes you to procrastinate, or to stare at a blank page. Use these initial thoughts – mission, success, vision and obstacles – to start shaping your writing goals. They might change and evolve over time, and that’s absolutely fine.

I want to have a more accessible (price-wise) option of what I teach my 1:1 coaching clients. But I do also hope that it will be another way for people to come into my world and/or get to know me better so they will continue to work with me or decide they are ready to go deeper. Haha, and honestly, what stops me? Too many ideas and other things I want or need to do!!! I've literally had a full draft of my book written for probably TWO YEARS now!!! Other things just keep taking the priority spot.

@Rachel Harmsworth So great tips! I'm trying to get better about deciding what needs to be done before I'm in the moment. I was actually just talking about this with my husband yesterday, wondering why I don't do it more often! It's much easier to do a thing if I decided yesterday that that's what I was going to do. When I'm not sure what to do in the moment, I usually just end up on Skool! 🤣🤣🤣
