My avatar is Jenny - these are the '3 sisters' as we call them that I came out of retirement in 2023 to rehabilitate... Now we know that the mom is Jenny (carmel laying down) and two of her offspring (different fathers)... CharLee is on the left and has a coat like mink... Took me almost two years to be able to actually pick her up and she is now my unofficial guard dog... ALWAYS between me and the door... Lacey is to the right and I suspect her daddy was a wirehaired Terrier, but she too 'guards' me and can hear the first sound of someone on the gravel in the driveway... Jenny was severely introverted when they flew into Atlanta two years ago... The rescuers in L.A. wanted the two children, but not Jenny and they are HIGHLY bonded, so I agree to take all three and rehabilitate them, allowing them to live out their natural lives with me here in TN. This is a talent given to me from God... I have saved thousands of dogs in my lifetime thanks to all of the blessings Our Father has given me... Through God, I can 'do dogs' in my sleep and not have to think about it... In fact, I feel part of God's mission in life for me was to go down into the trenches and pull these dogs off of the kill lists and find them adoptive, loving homes... I am indeed blessed... each day and in every way.
Topic for discussion, Kerry...
Kerry, can you speak about animals in Heaven? I believe they will be there, and I know this issue is one of contention... I have seen souls in animals and their emotions are true and as real as any emotion is... I have seen animal mothers grieve when losing their young - I have seen them give up their lives to save their offspring... There is now scientific data that prove there are three levels of emotion neurologically - first level is that which we feel for our spouses and partners, second is the level we feel for our children, the third is the unconditional love and emotion we feel for our pets who cannot speak to us in our language... I want to believe there is a fourth level when we connect to our God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit but it not yet revealed to us humans...

Awesome... major animal person here.... did shelter dog rescue for 37 years before I retired in 2017 and moved to TN... brought 27 of the pups we could not get adopted when I decided to retire (there was 134 in my rescue at the time)... Now down to only 4 littles and have lost many of my oldtimers in the past few years... {{sad}} as they grew older and lived out their natural life with me here... I got pulled out of retirement two years ago and we flight-nannied a set of three backyard breeders that were highly bonded from L.A. I don't speak Spanish and they did not understand English, so their rehabilitation was a challenge, but they are my best buds... I am a BIG exotic birds lover too... And my home is filled with the Holy Spirit grooving to their gorgeous bird speak.... Lots of Conures (my fav), Mourning Doves, Budgies (rescued) and a set of Canaries... Went to Florence, AL a few weeks back and brought back 15 in my little SMART car along with my scooter which breaks apart... LOVE exotic pet expos and the wide variety of birds (not a fan of reptiles, rats, etc. but birds? I am THERE). There is a huge national bird show coming up this fall in Chattanooga and I would LOVE to be able to go... My bird lady lives in KY and she asked me to take her Australian Frill after she lost his mate... My littles, my birds, my plants, my crafts and my GOD... life is great!
Thank you!
Thank you for including me in this new community.... I am 'CITED to be a part of this new endeavor by IYC folks!
