How was your day today?
Today started out gloomy and sad in Slovakia, without sun. I'm just comparing it to yesterday's beautiful sunny day. I went for a walk and the sun was shining beautifully, I was basking like a cat. But today there's no sun anywhere, a sad, gloomy day. Do you also feel the difference so intensely?

🍭 Commercial sweets - a silent disruption of the gut, brain and mood.
You know it – a quick craving for sweets, a packet of cookies, a bar or “healthy” muesli... Or a hot chocolate with your morning coffee? Harmless at first glance, but a chemical storm is triggered inside the body. ⚗️ What happens? And why can’t you feel good 🙏 ➡️ Blood sugar surge White sugar, glucose-fructose syrup or corn starch immediately raise blood glucose levels. The body reacts with a burst of insulin to lower it. After a few dozen minutes, the crash occurs – fatigue, irritability, nervousness. In children, it manifests itself as hyperactivity, screaming, emotional outbursts, crying. ➡️ Microbiome in shock These sweets contain no fiber – only fast sugars, which become a breeding ground for yeast and pathogenic bacteria. The right strains that make up a healthy gut (e.g. Lactobacillus, Bifidobacteria) begin to decline and an imbalance arises – dysbiosis. Result: flatulence, bloating, inflammation, eczema, histamine reaction. ➡️ Damage to the intestinal wall Emulsifiers (E471, E433, carboxymethylcellulose) and preservatives disrupt the mucus lining of the intestine. It functions as a protective barrier. When it weakens, toxins penetrate the blood – leaky gut is created. The body perceives this as an attack – it reacts with inflammation. ➡️ Inflammatory chain reaction Chronic inflammation in the intestine is transmitted to the entire body. It affects the liver, hormonal system, thyroid gland and brain. Some substances (e.g. aspartame, artificial colors) even cross the blood-brain barrier - and affect the nervous system. ➡️ Impact on the psyche and behavior Blood sugar fluctuations = mood swings. The brain loses a stable supply of glucose, which leads to anxiety, irritability and later exhaustion.
