Jesus gave believers a different example. Jesus was willing to suffer as he lived a faithful life. He kept on going. He was looking forward to the joy of being with God his Father. “Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭12‬:‭14‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Rather than asking God to remove the opposition, they prayed for boldness. God often strengthens us more than He changes our circumstances. ~ “Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness. Stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.” ‭‭Acts‬ ‭4‬:‭29‬-‭31‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭12‬ ‭NIV‬‬ Believers are grateful for Godʼs mercy. They show this by serving God with their minds and their bodies.. Godʼs love completely changes the way that believers think and act. They serve God together as brothers and sisters. Godʼs people are all different from one another. But they all trust Jesus. In this way they are made one. Paul described this like being a body that has many different parts. Even though the parts do different things, they belong to the same body. Jesusʼ followers have many different gifts. Because of this they do different kinds of work. But they are brought together as one in the body of Christ. Living together as the body of Christ means living in peace. This includes being humble and honest. Believers do good even to people who cause harm. Believers trust God to bring judgement against people who are doing evil. This is because only Godʼs love is strong enough to stop the power of evil.
