Joseph a cortes eternal rewards pt 1 read
Summary: works matter and we are rewarded of them but works don't have anything to do with our salvation. Eternal rewards 2 I will read next. Somewhat 25 books still to read.
What does this mean?
Romans 6: explanation We are not slaves to sin anymore we are slaves to righteousness. I understand that I'm saved through Christ only. But now I'm tempted to sin whereas before I was denying sin consciously. Should I continue this conscious denial or try to pray Jesus to do it for me. Or perhaps I don't have the right mental model to understand this passage. You are saved already but you should not sin. Why is this so difficult to understand?
Repentance 🗑️Understanding ✅ copy-pasted
Now after I dug in more on the salvation aspect I understand it. Correct me if I'm wrong. We do not have to kneel down and pray that we are forgiven of our wrongdoings. We do not need to avoid sin and do good things. That is what they needed to do before Jesus was killed. But after Jesus died, our sins were forgiven. What does this mean? We get to heaven by doing something so simple: trust that Jesus saves you from judgement. No regretting of sin or confession. No trying to do "good works". You know what this strategy does? It makes you self-righteous, it can make you think you are better than others and it can make you think you have earned salvation. We get salvated by believing in Jesus Christ dying for us. Plain simple, almost ridicously simple. But how are we supposed to stop sin? When we understand that we are already going to get the ticket to heaven by simply believing in Jesus dying for us, we enter into a state of relief first. Then we realize: ok I'm saved already, what now. And the good works and avoiding sin comes naturally from a place of awe, thankfulness and honor for God. An example I just invented: If someone gave you a birthday present so expensive they went into debt and misery. But they wanted to see you happy so they bought you this. You would then feel a want to serve them, thank them and help them BACK. But you don't have to, you already have the gift. Same with Jesus: we already got the gift and we do good because we feel the natural want to be thankful for someone but we don't have to. Correct me if I'm wrong I'm just learning this!

What is heaven like summarized in a very tight package based on the Bible? What do we do, what is it like, what do we have and what do we not? Whatever comes to mind
