Celebrating the Good from Easter Weekend!
Regardless of your role in your church, what is something from this weekend that you want to celebrate? Let's share it in the chat! I'll go first... As someone who was attending this weekend without any leadership role or responsibility, I witnessed a pastor, post-service, conversing with someone making a faith-decision to follow Jesus. This individual also made the decision to get baptized right then and there... this conversation was not in front of a crowd, but on the outskirts... and it was beautiful.

That was an absolutely beautiful observation. Praise God for allowing us to see the little glimpses of His Glory! Our attendance on Easter was twofold, for the first time since COVID and it was so great to see so many people come back along with new faces. It was also a blessing to see our new volunteers connect with people and have conversation in hopes that they return for our regular Sunday services and get connected to help foster spiritual growth and become fruitful. I love the way my church loves people.
Sunday Highlights?
What was the highlight from your time together as a church this weekend? I’ll go first… One thing I love about the church we are a part of is that everything is “by invitation.” As someone who was a part of church leadership for close to twenty years, the continual push and pull of wanting, expecting, or even demanding people to engage gets exhausting. I love the perspective of invitation. “You’re invited to stand with us..” “you’re invited to worship with us…” “you’re invited to pray with us…” etc. etc. An invitation takes the pressure off of everyone and give spaces for genuine response to what God may be doing. Rather than individual doing what they think is expected from them or simply going through the motions. I love the idea of less telling people what to do and more inviting them to consider what God may be doing within and around them.

We also say we invite you to... It has to be a choice after all. Sunday highlight is how we all work together to make our guests feel welcome. Everyone on teams is eager to help. It makes me so happy that we all enjoy serving together.
Do You Reset Throughout The Day?
I need a reset almost daily and most days I need two. The first is when I wake up and the second is at some point after lunch. The first reset is at the gym. It just puts me in a good headspace, knocks the cobwebs out, and gets ideas flowing. The second reset is taking my dog for a walk. It's stress relief, calming, and reenergizing. She'll be 13 in April, and I've lost count of how many walks she’s been on with me, at least a couple thousand. I've never been great at using writing as a reset, I think because for so long it's been a part of my work but I'm curious for more ways… What works for you? I'd love to hear.

My needed reset is after lunch when I stretch and listen to music. I too go for a short walk, and then return to work rejuvenated and ready to finish the day. I can't use writing as a reset either because mentally it is most times associated with work or purpose-driven.
Aloha!
My name is Leticia. I joined Curating Good because the group description is just what was I looking for. I'm not a pastor, however, I am currently working towards my license. I am a church and faith-based leader and am always looking for ways to practice personal development with spiritual support. I am not new to leadership, however, I have only been in a church leadership role for about 10 years. I have been volunteering for many, many years though. I have and still do everything from cleaning, organizing, teaching, and whatever else is needed. I enjoy writing and am a lifelong learner. I fell in love with Jesus when I was only a child, and have never stopped. I absolutely love hearing people's stories, and get so excited to hear what God is doing in their lives. I'm from CA but have native Hawaiian from my mother's side so I spent my summers over there. This experience allowed me to have different home churches, and I was able to see God's glory everywhere. I am so excited to be here, thank you for having me.
