From Watching to Waiting to Buying
So this week, I wanted to see what it was like to watch the stock market for a stock that I was interested in purchasing. Sometimes it was interesting watching how fast the rate dropped, climbed back up and repeat the cycle throughout the day. It’s definitely a time consuming endeavor so I created my limit order and just watched for a couple of days to see if it would drop to my purchase price. It didn’t, but I kept hoping it would. Finally, I knew I had to increase my limit some. I especially wanted to buy the stocks before the Ex-Dividend Date so I could be on the record for the dividend payout. This morning, I meant to lower the limit again by .50, but I had a meeting and forgot to do it. Just when I remembered to do so….my order had already been filled….just like that! In this game, you definitely can see how sometimes you get the price and sometimes the price gets you. Gotta leave the daily watching to those day traders for sure, but it was fun to try and see as I grow and learn on this journey! I’m still happy about my purchase especially since my main goal is dividend compounding! Have you been giving your money a job to do and has it completed the task? Happy Wednesday everyone!
