Hi @Tracy Zenobia! Thanks for this group. So...I'm a high altitude baker--6752'--and I'm wondering if I'm alone or if there are other community members up here in the sky!
@Tracy Zenobia also, I found this in a quick search about Idaho altitudes by city: Idaho features a diverse range of elevations across its cities, with major urban areas varying significantly in altitude. Major Cities and Their Elevations 1. Boise: Approximately 2,730 feet (833 meters) above sea level. 2. Idaho Falls: About 4,700 feet (1,433 meters) above sea level. 3. Pocatello: Roughly 4,400 feet (1,341 meters) above sea level. 4. Coeur d'Alene: Approximately 2,200 feet (671 meters) above sea level. 5. Twin Falls: Around 3,700 feet (1,128 meters) above sea level. 6. Nampa: About 2,500 feet (762 meters) above sea level. 7. Meridian: Approximately 2,600 feet (792 meters) above sea level. Additional Information - The mean elevation of Idaho is about 5,000 feet (1,524 meters) above sea level, with the highest point being Borah Peak at 12,662 feet (3,859 meters) and the lowest point at the Snake River in Nez Perce County at 710 feet (216 meters). - For a more interactive experience, you can use tools like Google Maps to view elevations for any specific city or location in Idaho.
Oh...I forgot to add that for all my cookie recipes, I freeze the dough balls and bake from frozen. I've learned over time that this helps keep the cookies nice and thick, even at altitude.
