Tutor Support - Question for Grads!
I would like to ask those of you who have studied with me to please share some insights on how you found tutor support during your studies! Obviously this is an entirely new platform and we have been SO used to supporting students via our Facebook group, and for new people joining who aren’t getting to see how amazing that was, enrolling can be a little bit daunting. Please share some thoughts of your experiences with the HGA in the comments below 👇 Note: I’ve tagged some of you to hopefully get the post some attention! @Vanessa Barber @Clare Hudson Hill @Clare Pulfer @Lizi Arnold @Daniella Malcolm-Stewart @Vanja Matjaž @Lorna Williams @Lesley Gordon @Victoria Shepherd

I have found my journey studying with HGA a very professional, safe, creative and encouraging space. Having searched for a different way to 'groom' dogs after feeling the process and methods were outdated and at times uncomfortable to watch or participate in, I happened to come across Stephanie's videos and things began to make sense for me, and I decided to study through HGA. Online studying can often be difficult and isolating however Stephanie created a warm, welcoming space, she was always contactable (given she was working alone thats quite incredible!) and knowledgeable about her subject, Stephanie is also a fellow Scot so that felt very comfortable and encouraging for me 😉. HGA encourages independent thinking and no question or worry is silly or disregarded, instead you're met with patience, a calmness and an encouraging open manner allowing for adaptability and growth. The tutorials and course work are organised and well prepared setting clear goals and expectations while encouraging an open dialogue. Stephanie is very understanding and empathetic of life pressures and open to extending deadlines for course work whilst continuing to be encouraging and supportive through the learning process. You always received honest, regular feedback and were offered various avenues to support any part of the course work you struggled with, including 1:1 meetings and or group chats. As a tutor Stephanie wants you to succeed and learn and openly encourages course participants and graduates to put themselves out there and be heard, and do something out of your comfort zone and fully supports this learning and development. Overall learning with HGA offers consistent, meaningful support, without it I most likely would not have continued in the dog grooming world. Lesley Gordon HGA graduate.

@Stephanie Zikmann so welcome ❤️
Pet Loss
Dearest community, please forgive my 'MIA' the last couple of days. My most precious girl, Nala, has been in end of life care for the last year, and passed away yesterday afternoon in the safety of her home, in the arms of the person who loved her the most in the world. I'm trying to navigate the loss of the very best 'dog teacher', a behaviour student could ever have asked for - she taught me so much about boundaries, about deep-rooted behaviours, about dog-on-dog conflict, about food resource guarding, and so much more. But most importantly of all, she taught me that even a dog with significant behaviour and physical impairments, can be supported. Can be beautiful. Can be loving. Can be the best comfort in times of stress. I am utterly devastated. I am broken. So, I ask that you all please bare with me as I may be a little less active in this space over the next few days. If there's anything really important remember you can reach out to @Clare Hudson Hill or @Vanessa Barber - our HGA tutors. I intend to be back on track for our next Live check in on Monday.

Time, observation & patience! Take the time to get to know all about the dogs that come through your door, trust in yourself and let the dogs learn to trust you, and be patient, good things take time 💕
