Is "passive income" just bullshit?
Everyone talks about digital products being "passive income." Courses. Ebooks. Templates. But let's be real... You still have to: - Market the thing - Handle customer support - Update the content - Deal with refunds - Keep promoting it That's not passive. That's just business. Sure, once you do the bulk of the work it becomes SEMI-passive. You're not trading hours for dollars anymore. But you can't just set it and forget it. Even investing requires watching your portfolio and making decisions. So is there anything that's TRULY passive? Like actually generates money while you sleep and never needs attention? Or is "passive income" just marketing BS? Tell me in the comments ๐Ÿ‘‡ What's the closest thing to real passive income you've found?

Yep Brett, you put your finger on it 100%. You can make a system (funnel) that handles the mechanics of capturing a lead, making a sale and following up automatically. But, if you don't nurture (promote) it, it's next to useless. Investing in the stock market or crypto is probably the closest to passive I've found. Crypto is interesting, but you have to ride it down as well as up, it's extremely volatile. You get used to it...
Why are so many people failing online?
Because they're following advice from gurus who don't know shit about their situation. "Sell high ticket!" "Just charge more!" "Do it this way!" That advice doesn't always work. Yet people follow it blindly like sheep. Then wonder why they're broke.

Looks like there's a solid opportunity here for early exposure. You can get real reach without needing a huge following. Iโ€™ve just jumped on: https://www.threads.com/@dev.brett Follow me there and follow this post โ€” Iโ€™ll be the guinea pig and report back what works and what doesn't.

The Reality Check You Need Before Making "The Move"
This weekend I dropped a video about why so many people's dreams of freedom and living abroad can go south pretty quick. As you guys know, I don't hold back and I'm always trying to look out for ya. It's all well and good thinking you're going to live the life of freedom, but that freedom can be lost pretty quickly if you don't get yourself in check. The whole digital nomad journey doesn't end when you get on the plane. Actually what happens is a whole new chapter begins. The things I mention in this video apply whether you're thinking Thailand, Vietnam, or anywhere else. Probably more so in Thailand because it's the fucking wild west out here! ๐Ÿค  Anyway, check it out and drop a comment if you've seen (or experienced) any of these patterns yourself.

Solid advice there Brett. Drinking and women is definitely something you need to be aware of and on top of. The safety net point is huge and something you also come to realize in South Africa as well. When I was in the UK, I always worked. I got my first part-time job at 8 years old delivering newspapers! I think a lot of "poverty" in the UK is "self-inflicted" as, generally speaking, with the welfare state, you wouldn't have zero money. Here in Africa, I've seen real poverty. We are so nannied and beholding to the State in Europe, as you rightly say...
Are Foreigners Giving Up on Thailand?
Just dropped a new video because I keep seeing these "foreigners are giving up on Thailand" headlines everywhere during low season. Meanwhile, I can't walk around my neighborhood without bumping into more expats than I've seen in 10 years. The DTV visa is working! People are still moving here by the truck load and it's just the usual seasonal cycle. What's your experience? Are you seeing more or fewer expats where you are?

@Brett Dev Yep, I've also heard the horror stories. That's why I say not to book your long-term accom upfront. Get out there and suss it out. First prize is an expat who's coming back and you can take over the whole show already set up.

@Toby Barnes There were 59 Afrikaaners (Boers) accepted in May I believe. I think most would like to stay in the country they built and love. Unfortuately, the ANC are not creating an environment conducive to this. Many, don't see a future here.
