🍓 Academy Week 5: Do HARD Things [pinned post]
Replay is up in the Classroom. Make sure you comment your answers in this post as you go thru the recording so I know what you're thinking. Much easier to provide feedback!! Look, so far we've covered: ✅ Goal Setting (the in-depth version) ✅ Michael Phelps breathing trick ✅ Visualization ✅ Basic nutrition for swimmers ✅ Desired identity statement ✅ You've gathered A LOT of evidence that supports your new identity 🔥 Keep the momentum going, 5 more weeks until we know who wins a brand new race suit of your choice!!! More and more fire badges are starting to appear I love it!! In today's training we have time for questions to make sure we're not leaving anybody behind. After that, we do a little magic together ok? It's gonna be workshop-style which means I'll ask you a series of questions that you can just answer in the comments. And at the end, you'll all have a massive done-and-ready improvement for this week. - No breakout rooms - No having to speak in front of everyone else ☺️

Im the kind of swimmer who gives it his all and is always consistent. • Underwaters were kinda iffy, sometimes I did them well, sometimes not but ill get there. • Very good flush / aerobic morning session with a bit of race rhythm at the end which felt great. • Nice higher volume aerobic endurance set this evening, felt smooth on backstroke which is the best feeling. • Did some light mobility work. Nutrition: 7.9125/10 Hydration: 7.5/10 Visualisation: Done ✅️
First weekend of counties
I couldn't decide which category to put this in since it had a mix of both, anyway I swam 2 races this weekend, 1 each day which were: 50 Fly, 50 Back. 50 Fly: 30.09, this one made me confused since I should go 29 but what made it the 30 makes sense, basically my kicks during the stroke came too much from the knees which added a lot of drag and overall lack of speed. My coach said that the intensity was good the whole way but that one thing ruined it. This most likely also contributes to why I feel like I cant hold the fly as well as I usually do. This is a good thing aswell since that would mean that if I fix that one little problem I can go those better times. 50 Back: 31.53, PB but not a good one in my opinion. Similar to the fly, one little thing made me lose a lot of speed, and the awesome thing was that its not my endurance or stroke rate dropping off or anything like that, but the fact that I was going into both lane ropes 😂 like a snake🐍. I dont know why this was but I'm guessing that its either the London aquatics centre ceiling (you can only understand if you've swam backstroke there) or just the fact my technique started to degrade as I swam the race because most of the time I feel quite out of control swimming the 50 back. This was also mentioned by my coach that as I swam the 50 my catch started getting better, which is funny. So yeah thats my whole review of this weekend, I would see it as a win and learning.

Im the kind of swimmer who gives it his all and is always consistent. • Did mobility workout before going to competition. •First day of the comp, 1 race, 50 fly. It was alright I didnt add a crazy amount of time but rather was confused I didnt go a faster time. (I went 30.09 Long) • Got feedback on it from my coach, he said the main problem was that I was knee kicking too much which would have added drag and made me die off faster which makes sense because I dont usually die off like that in a 50. So nice learning. 👍 Nutrition: 7.3333333 Hydration: 8/10 Visualisation: will be done. Post meet results will be posted after tomorrow since i got a race tmrw.
We got a serious problem..
What started with a performance camp in Tenerife has now grown into a global powerhouse. Crazy!! We're getting close to 1000 members in this awesome Swimpros community. We appreciate every swimmer, every parent and every coach here whether you actively contribute or just observe from the background for now (I know who you are 😅). Let's start a discussion about what cool things we could do when we reach 1000 members. Go wild, exchange ideas in the comments. And if you're new here, start engaging! Make some friends. Connect. Share what's working and what's not working so we can all grow together. You might wanna check out the Swimpros Calendar to see the upcoming live trainings.

A fun thing could be to do a quiz on the stuff we learnt from swimpros. The prize could be a free t-shirt/hoodie/ merch in general. It could be kahoot or any other quiz site. (This could help people refresh their memory on the stuff and see who retains the information and stuff. This should be done at a random point and not announced so people dont revise for it.)😂

Im the kind of swimmer who gives it his all and is always consistent. • Pretty good morning set, didnt feel as strong as I usually do but still did my best ofcourse. • Tried stretching abit more, did mobility workout. • Evening session was not cool but still tried my best, it was 50's p200, held some 34's,35's and even 1 33 which i'd say is a win when not feeling very good.

I'm the kind of swimmer who gives it his all and is always consistent • Had a great practice this morning, coach gave us target times to hit for 200's on each stroke and I was able to beat it by 5 seconds without giving a lot of effort. • Did some stretching, a mobility workout. • 10+ Activities on skool everyday, consistency
