Introduction
Hi! My name is Becca. My husband is Brian. Our daughter, Kiera, is in college but lives with us and commutes. We have 4 dogs: Wally (6 year old beagle), Evie (5 year old crazy mixed breed), Mabel (2 year old Great Dane mix) and Eddie (2 year old mix that we rescued from Franklin County in December). At first, Eddie assimilated really well with the other dogs. He learned our routines. He played with Mabel which was great because they would wear each other out. Then one day a dog sitter came over to meet the dogs and Eddie bit her. And then my mother-in-law came over and he bit her. He does get a little angry and growls about getting his paws wiped and personal space. He also tends to lose his mind when someone walks by the house. Oh and he’s also an escape artist and has run away a few times. He’s really fast but he typically find himself at a nice neighbors and he’s fine with them and then we bring him home. Eddie will be starting the program in June and we can’t wait!
Samson, our Great Pyrenees, went to 'vacation' with Jeff and Heather about 4 years ago. Samson is the sweetest boy and does amazing with others when he isn't at home. Unfortunately, he is a large breed guardian and his property/home are his 'job'. Having people to our home was out if the question. Jeff and Heather taught us the skills that we needed for exactly what Samson needed. He is a perfect dog if we use our skills! That was the biggest thing we have learned. Have we backslid? Yep! But Samson knows what he needs to do. We are forever grateful for Paradigm. So much so... that Samson continues to vacation there every now and then. Ha. Goodluck to you and your dog!
