The Reddit Thread That Landed Me 3 Clients in 2 Weeks 🔥
Posted one helpful comment on Reddit. Inbox exploded. Three clients signed. Here is the Reddit strategy nobody talks about. THE SUBREDDIT: r/smallbusiness - 1.4 million members. Business owners asking real questions. THE POST I FOUND: "Anyone else spending way too much time on data entry? My team manually types 50+ invoices per month and I feel like there has to be a better way." 142 upvotes. 67 comments. All suggestions were software recommendations. Nobody mentioned automation. MY COMMENT: "Built an automation that handles this exact problem. Invoice hits email, data extracts automatically, posts to accounting software. Takes 30 seconds per invoice instead of 10 minutes. Happy to explain how it works if you want details." 47 upvotes on my comment. 6 DMs that night. THE DM CONVERSATIONS: Person 1: "How does this actually work?" Person 2: "Can this work with QuickBooks?" Person 3: "What does something like this cost?" Person 4: "Do you do this for clients?" Person 5: "I have the same problem - construction invoices" Person 6: "Bookmarking this. Will reach out soon." THE CONVERSIONS: Person 1: Became client - $1,600 setup Person 4: Became client - $2,100 setup Person 5: Became client - $1,900 setup Total from one comment: $5,600 THE SUBREDDITS THAT WORK: r/smallbusiness (general business pain) r/Accounting (invoice and receipt pain) r/realestate (document-heavy industry) r/legaladvice (contract processing) r/Entrepreneur (operational challenges) r/startups (scaling problems) THE SEARCH STRATEGY: Search subreddit for: - "manual data entry" - "too much paperwork" - "invoices taking forever" - "document processing" - "there has to be a better way" Sort by: New or Top This Week THE COMMENT FORMULA: Line 1: Validate their pain Line 2: State you solved this Line 3: Brief explanation of how Line 4: Offer to share more Do not link your website. I Let A Client Negotiate Me Down And Immediately Regretted It 🔥
Client asked: "Can you do $800 instead of $1,500?" I said yes. Felt grateful to get the work. Two weeks later, same client referred me to their business partner. That referral paid my asking price ($1,500) without negotiating. Then mentioned: "John told me he got you for $800. I'm happy to pay full price though - this is solving a massive problem for us." Ouch. THE LESSON: Your pricing communicates your value. When you discount easily, you signal your work isn't worth your asking price. BETTER NEGOTIATION FRAMEWORK: When they ask for discount: "I understand budget is a consideration. The $1,500 reflects the time I'll save you annually. Can I ask - what would handling these documents manually cost you this year?" Usually they calculate it out and realize your fee is tiny compared to their pain. If they still push back: OPTION 1: Reduce scope "I can do $800 if we simplify to just invoice extraction without the automated posting to QuickBooks. You'd still save 80% of the manual work." OPTION 2: Payment plan "I can do $500 upfront, then $250/month for 4 months. Total $1,500." OPTION 3: Volume discount on referrals "I'll hold at $1,500 for you. But if you refer another client who signs, I'll give you both $200 credit on monthly fees." NEVER just drop your price without getting something back. REAL SITUATION I HANDLED BETTER: Insurance broker: "Can you do $1,000 instead of $1,800?" My response: "The $1,800 reflects the full automation - extraction, posting to your system, and error handling. I could do $1,000 if we implement just the document parsing and you manually review and post the extracted data. That would still save you 60% of the time. Would that work?" Her: "No, I need it fully automated. I'll pay the $1,800." PRICING PSYCHOLOGY: When you confidently explain your pricing and offer alternatives that REDUCE SCOPE rather than reduce price, clients usually stick with your original proposal. hey, what tool you are using to communicate with the client during build and maintenance? In more generic what stack for project management?

@Duy Bui ok so i am over thinking about this for months
Day 1: Your First $1,800 Client is Hiding in Plain Sight (And They Process Documents)
Local dentist. 30 patient intake forms daily. Receptionist spending 15 minutes per form manually typing into their system. 7.5 hours every single day just copying data. Found them complaining in a Facebook group about being overwhelmed. Sent a simple message: "I can automate that patient form entry. $1,800 setup, saves you 7.5 hours daily. Interested?" They replied in 4 minutes. WHY DOCUMENT AUTOMATION IS PERFECT FOR YOUR FIRST CLIENT: Every business processes documents. Invoices, forms, receipts, contracts, purchase orders. They ALL hate it. They ALL know it wastes time. They ALL will pay to fix it. You don't need to explain the problem. They live it daily. THE EXACT WORKFLOW I BUILT: Form arrives via email → PDF Vector parses the form and extracts patient data (name, DOB, insurance, medical history) → Structured data flows into their practice management system → Confirmation sent to staff TOTAL BUILD TIME: 2 hours THEIR SAVINGS: $3,000 monthly (7.5 hours × $20/hour × 20 days) MY FEE: $1,800 setup THEIR ROI: Pays for itself in 18 days Here's the technical stack I used: - Gmail (trigger when form arrives) - ["PDF Vector Parse Document"](https://www.pdfvector.com/integrations/make) for extraction - Make.com for workflow orchestration - Their practice software API for data insertion The form extraction? I used PDF Vector's LLM mode because patient forms have inconsistent layouts. It pulls the data regardless of format. Cost: $12 in API credits monthly THE TEMPLATE I REUSED: Patient Intake Form template from my folder. Contains extraction schema for: - Personal information - Insurance details - Medical history - Emergency contacts - Consent signatures I've deployed this EXACT template 8 times now. Just change the API endpoints for their practice software. THE DISCOVERY PROCESS: Don't overcomplicate finding clients. I literally searched Facebook groups for local businesses + "overwhelmed" or "too much paperwork"

Why I Give Away My Automation for Free (Then Make $4,200)
Started giving away automations for free 3 months ago. Sounds crazy. Here's what happened. THE OFFER: "I'll automate one document process for free" No strings attached. No payment required. Completely free. THE CATCH: Just two requests: 1. Let me use your project as a case study 2. Introduce me to one similar business if it works That's it. THE RESULTS IN 90 DAYS: Free projects completed: 6 Paid referrals from those projects: 11 Average referral deal size: $2,100 Total revenue from free work: $23,100 THE FIRST FREE PROJECT: Local dental office Patient intake form automation Built in 2.5 hours Saved them 4 hours weekly Two weeks later: "My colleague wants this. Can I connect you?" That referral: $1,800 paid project THE SECOND FREE PROJECT: Small law firm Contract data extraction Built in 3 hours Saved them 12 hours weekly One month later: 3 referrals from that attorney Total value: $6,400 THE PSYCHOLOGY: People are skeptical of paid services from unknowns People trust their peers' recommendations completely One successful free project = Multiple paid referrals Your first 6 clients fund the next 60 THE FREE PROJECT CRITERIA: Must be straightforward (under 4 hours build time) Must be a document process you can template Must be a business that knows other similar businesses Must agree to intro if they're happy THE CONVERSATION: Prospect: "How much?" Me: "First one's free if you meet two conditions" Prospect: "What conditions?" Me: "Let me document the results, and introduce me to one similar business if it works" Prospect: "That's it?" Me: "That's it. I need case studies more than money right now" THE PROJECTS THAT WORK BEST: Invoice processing (every business has this pain) Form automation (dentists, gyms, real estate) Contract extraction (lawyers, consultants) Receipt processing (accountants, small businesses) THE TIMELINE: Week 1: Find free project opportunity Week 2: Build and deliver Week 3: Document results Week 4: Get testimonial and intro

🤝 Why This Community Exists (My Honest Story)
I need to share something that's been bothering me for months. I've been part of 10+ automation groups. Posted hundreds of times trying to help people. And I keep getting the same result: deleted posts, warnings, and eventually... banned. Here's what gets me removed: When someone asks "How do I find my first client?" and I share the EXACT messages that worked for me - DELETED. When someone struggles with pricing and I show my actual invoices with real numbers - WARNING. When someone needs templates and I share my Google Drive folder freely - BANNED. The reasons they give? "Too promotional." "Against community guidelines." "Not appropriate content." But here's what I think is really happening: These group owners built their communities to sell courses, not create success stories. They want you consuming content forever, not competing in the marketplace. They're protecting their client base, not helping you build yours. Think about it - if everyone in their 50,000 person group actually started landing clients, who would buy their next course? Who would pay for their "advanced masterclass"? Who would stay dependent on them? That's why I created AI First Client Formula with different rules: ✅ Share everything - templates, contracts, exact pricing ✅ Show real numbers - what you charge, what you earned ✅ Help others compete - even if they become your competition ✅ Celebrate client wins - the bigger the better ✅ No gatekeeping - everything free and open I WANT you to take my methods. I WANT you to land clients. Hell, I want you to charge more than me and build something bigger. Because here's the truth: The automation market is massive. We could have 10,000 successful builders and barely scratch the surface. There's room for everyone. But some groups would rather keep you as a student than see you as a peer. Not here. This is for builders who want to BUILD. For people ready to earn, not just learn. If you've ever had your helpful post deleted, been warned for sharing too much value, or felt like groups want to keep you small - you belong here.
