Hey hey everyone, I do hope you are well. I was thinking about Gratitude Tuesday and realized Gratitude no matter how small we think something is to be greatful for, it fills our heart with happiness so much that our Hearts remember and embrace that happiness and bring it into the present. Gratitude, to me, is such an important part of mindfulness and of The Mindful Journey, because gratitude brings us back into the present moment. And the present moment is where we come home to ourselves. Also, gratitude has never meant pretending that life is perfect. It doesn't mean ignoring the pain, the disappointment, the grief, or the things we are still working through. It means learning to recognize that even in the midst of all of that, something good is still here. There is still a breath moving through our body. There is still the Earth beneath our feet. There is still someone who loves us A moment that made us smile, or simply another opportunity to begin again. Sometimes gratitude is big. And sometimes gratitude is simply saying, "I made it through today." And yes, that matters. Mindfulness says: Be here. Gratitude says: Notice what is here. And healing gently teaches us: That we, yes you too, can be grateful for what is here while still becoming who you are meant to be. Gratitude does not ask us to deny the difficult parts of our journey. It simply keeps the difficult parts from becoming the only things we can see. So today, I invite you to place both hands over your heart. Take three slow breaths. Come back to your center. And instead of asking yourself what is wrong, what is missing, or what you need to fix, ask: What is here, right now, that I can be grateful for? Don't search for something profound. Maybe it is your breath. Your morning coffee. The changing sky. The person who who made you smile. The strength you didn't know you had. Gratitude is not about having a perfect life. It is about developing a heart that can still recognize the sacred within an imperfect one.
