Origin of Murphy's Law
As the saying goes, "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong." But did you know that the popular version of Murphy's law that sums up the phenomenon is actually bogus? Murphy's actual idea proved more beneficial than you think. To understand this, we got to take a trip back to the 50s. John Stapp, a USAF colonel, headed project MX981 in the Mojave Desert. This challenge essentially involved rocket-powered sleds that rode through the sand, testing the boundaries of deceleration. Enter an army engineer by the name of Edward A. Murphy, who prepared special sensors for testing the human body's tolerance against g-forces. For some reason, the technicians at the site inserted the sensors the wrong way, which triggered Murphy, who commented, "If there's a wrong way to do something, these guys will do it." John Stapp was asked at a much-later conference on how nobody was hurt during Project MX981. Stapp replied that it was all thanks to Murphy's Law. Murphy's Law was not intended to be a pessimistic worldview. It's a reminder to check your mirrors and ensure everything is in working condition before you cruise through life's challenges. And in case you're still wondering why toast always falls the buttered side down, there's actually a science behind it (hint: the height of your dining table and toast rotations) rather than cosmic juju. The main point here is to focus on checking your corners and improving yourself constantly rather than taking a defeatist's stance. Murphy would have approved.

The 333 Method
You probably heard of the number of the beast and its angelic counterpart (777). But have you heard of the 333 method? The 333 method is a way to get organized by restoring some semblance of control over your life. It’s also a great technique to prevent writers from getting unhinged. Here’s how it works: Dedicate three hours to the top item on your to-do list. Like slaying that tedious listicle on “The 10 best knitting clubs in Florida.” Set three hours of minimal disturbance and get down to it, no excuses. It’s basically “eating the frog.” Next, it’s time to settle three maintenance tasks. These are the chores that you got to do to maintain your professionalism and credibility. For me, it’s typically something like clearing my emails, sending X client pitches, and finishing the outstanding article edits from yesterday. Lastly (and certainly not the least), you got to mindfully unwind and fulfil three self-care activities. Note: I consider this the linchpin for preserving one‘s sanity in modern times. Spa treatments, walking the dog, and retail therapy are all wonderful options here. So, would you give the 333 technique a go? I think it’s a nifty way to compartmentalise a chaotic day, don’t you agree?

@Kayleigh Shoen Oh yes, certainly! It’s a way to prioritize what needs doing first. Once you get those out of the way, you’re as free as a bird to settle the rest! I hope the method helps ease things for you, even if just for a bit!
A major message on self-care
I am now thoroughly convinced that: You don’t have to be the strongest, You don’t have to be the best looking, You don’t have to be the tallest, the cutest, or the baddest. You don’t have to be the coolest. You don’t have to be the funniest or the richest. Just be the most interesting version of YOU and invest time in wholesome ideas, activities, and people. And be the one who shows up every time (as much as you can). And you’ll find yourself ahead of the pack - the quality of life just hits different.

@John Harris Love that!
What are you reading today?
Writing and reading are two sides of the same coin. By reading, you’re filling your mind with precious material. You learn what to write, how to present your words nicely. And yes, you also learn what not to do. So, I hope you don’t reach a point where you’re writing so much that you forget about the importance of reading! Keep those grey cells stimulated and I hope you’re having a productive week! What have you been reading lately btw? Here’s what’s on my current reading list: 1.The Copywriter’s Handbook by Robert W.Bly 2.Pagans by Ethan Doyle White

@John Harris Meditations is truly a seminal work that’s as applicable today as it was a thousand years ago. Do you have a favourite teaching?

@John Harris that’s a powerful affirmation. I’m sure it has served you well over the years and continues to shape your professional ethics. Thanks for sharing! Fun fact: I used to read Meditations every night before bed with lo-fi music. I discovered that it really soothed the mind and prepared me for the next day ahead.
The Laws of Manifestation
I’m sure you’ve heard it. Ask the universe and it listens. Speak to it often and you’ll form a bond. What bond you might ask? Essentially, you can ask anything and it shall come true. So, I’d like to remind each of you to spend some time. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a minute, 30 minutes, an hour, or however long you’d like. Bless that time with conscious thoughts. Healthy thoughts. Believe that it’s true even when it hasn’t happened yet. Have faith. But more importantly, act upon it to make those requests a reality. A common misconception is that you don’t need to actually do anything to manifests your dreams. That’s simply untrue. You’ll need to put in the effort to some extent. If you want $, you’ll need to at least buy a lottery ticket. Money doesn’t just materialise. Reality has rules too. I The same goes for good health or having the perfect romantic partner. You don’t just sit at home through inaction, meditate and you’ll be super healthy with the love of your life knocking on your door. Do some exercises, and improve your social life. You get the drift! Why does it matter in this Skool? Well, it’s a reminder that true mindfulness and progress begins with action. Intention plus action, multiplied by days, and you’ll start seeing the universe respond. Good luck!
