Hey you gorgeous bunch, I’m sorry I’ve been a bit quiet this week!!! It’s been non stop!!! Now I’m home, I’ve finally had my first proper sleep in days I’m ready to tell you all everything!!! 🤣 I don’t think it’s fully sunk in yet what an incredible few days we had at the RAISE Summit. As you all know, there were a few of us over there supporting our incredible @Sian Kelly Guy… and wow… what an experience!!!!! I did end up spending a good chunk of the second day back in my hotel room because my stomach decided to remind me who’s really in charge 😩, but let’s forget about that for a minute and talk about what really made the trip so special. RAISE was incredible. So many fascinating people, so many amazing products and the venue itself was absolutely stunning. But you all know me by now… for me it’s ALWAYS about our gorgeous network. I was lucky enough to travel over with some of my new colleagues, while also having some of our beautiful WiTPN family there too!!!! Watching my two worlds collide was one of the most special moments I’ve ever had. Seeing you all welcome my colleagues with open arms, everyone chatting away, swapping stories, making connections, laughing together… it just made me so proud to be part of this community and at one point I even had a little cry as I was completely overwhelmed sat around a table with everyone I care so much about, the women that built me up so much over the past 10 months & all my new colleagues who have also been so wonderful with me since day 1!!! They haven’t stopped talking about you all since….. One of the highlights for me was hearing that my manager rang our CEO back home to tell him just how incredibly talented this network is. After me constantly banging on about the lack of women in tech, and after hearing our incredible @Sue Black talk about the amazing TechUP programme, they’re now buzzing with ideas. They’re talking about putting together a BIG fundraiser for our network and, once our CEO is back from holiday, having more conversations about how we might be able to help get more TechUP women into tech roles.….. I can’t put into words what that means to me.…. From where I was when I joined this network, to now be in a position where I can make connections that could give something back to the people that completely changed my life… the network that believed in me, encouraged me, poured into me every single day and helped me become the person I am now… that’s everything to me….. I’m getting all warm just thinking about it!!!! If we can help create opportunities for other women who are where I was not that long ago… that’s what it’s all about!!!!

How is everyone doing? Are you all prepared for the incoming heatwave?…..I feel like the heat is following me around lately & I’m not impressed 🤣🙈 I’ve only got a half day in work today, then it’s a day of absolute chaos before I get picked up at 3am to head to the airport for my flight to Paris!!!!! 🇫🇷✈️…. I don’t know why I even bother trying to be organised 😂 I plan everything weeks in advance… and I still end up running round like a mad woman at the last minute every single time….then convince myself it’s because I thrive under pressure 🤣🙈 I am soooo excited to get to RAISE. There are loads of talks and sessions I want to see, but….I’m even more excited to catch up with everyone from our network who’s going! ❤️✨💃🏼 And tomorrow’s catch up will be LIVE from Paris!!!!! I keep stopping and thinking how different life looks compared to just a few months ago…. If someone would have told me then that I’d be flying off to attend events like this, organising company events across Europe, and getting to meet so many incredible people, I’d never have believed them. Anyway… enough waffling on from me. I’m going to make sure I’ve packed everything before I end up arriving in Paris with no clothes, a charger & a fan!!! 🤣🙈✨❤️

It’s a bit of a late one from me because I’m on the train home after spending the day in London for a work event.…. What a day ✨💃🏼🎉❤️ Great weather, lovely people, loads of exciting conversations… and then they completely caught me off guard.…….. They’ve asked me to relocate to Barcelona in January 2027 to lead the community in the new office they’re opening out there. 🤯🇪🇸 I wasn’t expecting that conversation!!!!!! There’s obviously loads to think about. Finn will be in his final year of A Levels, so he comes first. I’m already trying to work out how I could make it work by travelling backwards and forwards until he’s finished because I don’t want to disrupt such an important year for him.….. It’s just mad to think where I was a few months ago.….. Now I’ve got Paris next week, I’m organising a Remobi - Women in Tech event in Germany later this year, travelling around meeting incredible people, helping grow communities across Europe… and now I’m being asked if I’d relocate to Barcelona.… what is my life?! 🤣….. there’s never a dull moment that’s for sure!!! I’m excited, a little bit terrified, and very very qvery grateful….. Sometimes life really does throw opportunities at you when you least expect them. Anyway… I’m absolutely shattered, so I’m going to get home, give Finn & Blacky-Chan a cuddle and let all of this sink in. ❤️…….i hope you’ve all had a lovely week xxx

Good morning! As you know I set up this Power Network because I want to see more women in senior positions in tech. Over the several decades in my career I've started quite a few initiatives to get women into tech and help keep them there. This is the first initiative I've started with the aim of fast tracking women already in tech into as senior positions as possible. As I'm moving towards, probably, the last few years of working full time, I really want to ensure that I help as many women as possible get into senior positions, positions of power, to ensure that we get the tech products and services that we deserve, but also to make sure that we have as many women as possible in senior decision making roles. I want to ensure a continuing and *growing* flow of women at the top. You are all the pioneers in this initiative, thank you all so much for that ❤️ To have the impact that is needed we need to grow this network, to bring in more members. We need more women joining who have the potential to be senior leaders, who will value what we do here and will support other women to achieve. We don't want women who don't support other women, we want talented, friendly and supportive women who will work together to help everyone in the Power Network, and the tech industry to rise. I'll be posting on LinkedIn and other social media platforms to find those women and bring them into our network. The more that you share and post yourselves the bigger the impact that will have. Please help me to grow this network so that hundreds of us can rise together. As a group we can make a massive difference to the landscape and the more supportive, ambitious women we have in here the better and faster that will happen.
