🐣 Easter (disaster or success)🐣
Your easter basket might be working against you... Before you grab that candy or fill those plastic eggs, let's talk about what's actually inside the most popular Easter products. Spoiler: it's not great. 🍬 The Candy Situation Most Easter candy is loaded with ingredients that directly conflict with your longevity goals: - Red 40 & Yellow 5 — linked to inflammation and cancer in animal studies - High-fructose corn syrup — spikes blood sugar, feeds fat storage - Artificial sweeteners (in "sugar-free" options) — gut dysbiosis and cognitive decline links - Titanium dioxide — common whitening agent in candy shells, under scrutiny for safety If you can't pronounce half the ingredient list, that's your answer. 🧺 Your Easter Basket, Upgraded Swap the traditional basket for a longevity-friendly version: - Dark chocolate (85%+) instead of milk chocolate eggs - Raw nuts and dried fruit instead of jelly beans - RXBAR or clean protein bar instead of Reese's - Glass water bottle or LMNT packets instead of sugary drinks - A good book, journal, or puzzle instead of plastic-wrapped garbage 🥚 And the Grocery List… While you're shopping this week, here's what to actually put in your cart: - Eggs (pastured if possible) — choline, protein, brain fuel - Wild-caught salmon — omega-3s for your brain and heart - Asparagus & Brussels sprouts — seasonal, anti-inflammatory, high fiber - Blueberries — low glycemic, antioxidant-packed, perfect Easter color 😄 - Extra virgin olive oil — drizzle it on everything - Sweet potato — your slow-carb alternative to the white potato casserole 🎯 The goal isn't perfection this Easter. It's awareness. Enjoy the holiday, spend time with your family, and maybe just flip over one or two labels before you buy. Small shifts, done consistently, are what this whole thing is about. Anyone got any fun plans? @Lidia Axe @Adam Sawyer @Mick Lolekonda @Brodie Marschall @Franchesca Clark @Lance Hitchings @Reva Israel @Kimberly Wright @Lauren Baetz

Truth! Holidays have become absolute sugar traps! Hopefully we can change this!
Orthopedic repairs
Any one recovering from 25+, 30+ years old, Orthopedic repairs? Mine are a left knee posterior cruciate ligament in 94 and a Right Ankle fracture from 199 that are now past that 25yr warranty? They are holding pretty well, but my knee has slack. My right ankle has been better. But looking back? Not an easy ride last 27 years. Both can on occasion swell, get stiff. Depending on activity especially at work. I don't want any Surgeries.. Been using every latest wearable for work in flexible braces, balms, sports tapes and the like. Sports tape is amazing I find. But its cumbersome. Has anyone with major joint issues done any other type of therapies? Saline injection, heat, infrared pulse, e-stim etc. I'm pretty active at 59 so my joints get used. Probably too much. Ha. I wish I could relax..

@Adam Sawyer too true! Alcohol definitely spikes inflammation. Every time I decide to imbibe with a glass of wine, I have elbow pain the next day. Feels ironic to say it, but it's the truth!

@Adam Sawyer thanks for the conversation. It is absolutely shocking that alcohol causes so many deaths and is so easy to get and to abuse.
🏖️Take more breaks!🏖️
Soooo I took some PTO…. Work is stressful. Life is stressful. We need to normalize taking breaks more often!!! Don’t plan one vacation a year… but 3-4 mini vacations! it wasn’t until taking a step back for some much needed vacation that I truly realized how stressed I was. And stress is one of the leading causes of heart disease, inflammation, and much more. Stress on the body can be good… in moderation. Work hard … relax harder! Enjoy your week everyone!

🌱🥩Organic? Non-gmo?!?
🌱Shopping for real, nutrient-dense fuel that supports cellular health, lowers inflammation & extends your healthy years? 🌱These terms get thrown around a lot. Here’s the breakdown (what they actually mean + if they’re legit for longevity): • Organic – No synthetic pesticides, fertilizers, sewage sludge or GMOs. USDA-certified.VALID – Dramatically cuts pesticide residues linked to hormone disruption & chronic disease. Often higher antioxidants. Worth the premium. • Non-GMO – Ingredients not genetically engineered.VALID (with nuance) – Avoids glyphosate-heavy crops & potential unknown long-term effects. Science says GMOs are “safe” but longevity purists skip them. Bonus if paired with organic. • Grass-Fed (beef, dairy, lamb) – Animals ate only grass & forage their entire lives (no grain).SUPER VALID – 2–5× more omega-3s, CLA, vitamins A & E. Better anti-inflammatory profile. Huge upgrade vs. grain-fed. • Pasture-Raised – Animals lived outdoors on grass, moving freely (not feedlot).SUPER VALID – Superior nutrient density + lower stress hormones in the meat/eggs. Best animal-welfare & nutrition combo. 🌱Other common “fresh food” terms: • Free-Range – Some outdoor access (but could be a tiny door for 5 minutes).Semi-valid – Better than caged, but vague standards. Not as strong as pasture-raised. • Cage-Free – Hens not in tiny battery cages (still packed indoors).Mostly marketing – Minimal health benefit for you. • Antibiotic-Free / No Antibiotics Ever – No routine drugs.VALID – Reduces antibiotic resistance risk & drug residues. • No Added Hormones / rBST-Free – No synthetic growth hormones.VALID (for beef/dairy) – Avoids endocrine disruptors. (Poultry can’t legally have them anyway.) • Wild-Caught (fish) – Harvested from the wild.VALID – More omega-3s, fewer contaminants & antibiotics than farm-raised. • Regenerative – Farming that rebuilds soil health & sequesters carbon.VALID & NEXT-LEVEL – Often the most nutrient-rich food on the planet.
