Transition Season
Hey everyone 💛 Just wanted to check in and share a little life update. Things have been really busy lately, and today it all started to feel very real. I just finished my last full time day at my current job because I am getting ready to move back home. Next week I will be selling most of my furniture and things on Facebook Marketplace, talking to someone about taking over my lease, and sorting through all the little details that come with moving. It feels like a lot to juggle, but the more I sit with it, the more confident and at peace I feel with my decision. Even though I am excited to go back to the people who love me the most, it is still scary and a little sad. I have built a life here. I will miss my apartment, my independence, and the friends I have made. But deep down I know this next chapter is the right one, and I am ready for whatever God has planned. Anyway, enough about me. How is everyone else doing? What have you all been up to? I would love to hear what is going on in your world and check in with each of you 🤍

Excited for you and this new season of life (and selfishly excited to have you around more).
Feeling Stretched Thin and Needing Help
Hey everyone, I could use some advice right now. Post grad life has been a lot. I have been working two jobs and doing really well in both, but honestly, I feel like I have been running on fumes. I am proud of how hard I have been working and how much I am growing in my career, but lately it feels like every ounce of energy I have is going into survival mode. Paying rent, groceries, bills. I just do not know how to make time for myself anymore. When I am not working, I try to pour whatever I have left into the people I love. My friends and my boyfriend really keep me grounded, but that usually leaves me with nothing left for me. I have been trying to prioritize sleep because I know I need energy, but I barely have time to work out, eat real meals, or just breathe. I guess I am just asking for some guidance or encouragement from people who have gone through seasons like this. How do you find balance when everything feels like a priority? How do you know what is worth pouring into when your time and energy are limited? If anyone has any wisdom, routines, or even spiritual advice that has helped you through a season like this, I would love to hear it. I am really trying to figure out how to keep going without burning out.

This is a tough one for me, bc making everything a priority and living on the edge of burnout is kind of my specialty lol 💅 I think the easiest way for me to add joy and a little margin is to romanticize things I’m already doing. For example, probably one of the simplest most hands off ways that I bring myself joy is having twinkle lights in the backyard on a timer. I have done it in the last 3 houses we have lived in, and having them come on at dusk makes the house and yard feel cozy and magical. When I’m cooking dinner, adding a glass of wine and a great playlist helps a chore feel more life giving. Same for the shower. Light a candle, turn on a great playlist and it goes from “I need a shower” to feeling like a spa. I listen to audio books when I drive. But aside from that, we do need to figure out how to slow the pace. It’s not sustainable and I don’t think it’s how we are meant to live. My Dr told me 13 years ago, when the twins were babies, that I live in a constant state of fight or flight and I don’t think I’ve ever really NOT lived that way since my mid 20’s. It’s really hard. I wish I had better advice, maybe my mom can speak to it better, she’s a lot better at self care than me. But I’m praying for you and would love to talk about this more, maybe we can both find ways to add margin to our life.
So, me? About that...
Hi. Im Amber. Im 37, a follower and believer in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, a mother of 3 beautiful children that I proudly homeschool, and a butler to 5 pets that include two little dogs( a 2 year old shih tzu I found on craigslist, and a 4-8 week old pug puppy I also found on craigslist which Im unsure of her actual age..heh, two overweight cats I got off of the book of faces for free, and a 5 year old Syrian teddy bear hamster I saved from a dilapidated pet store. I stay at home unless I go somewhere, its always with my husband and children. I dont drive myself, I have extremely severe POTS syndrome, and Im just kind of winging this life stuff. I love starting crafts and never finishing them, hot coffee on rainy mornings, lofi late at night, my kindle, and I dont paint my nails. In the free time I lie to myself about, I have a little tiktok hobby. I only have a little over 4k followers, and Im pretty sure most of them are bots, but if you wanna get extra nosey, my handle up there is my gamertag, sugarcrust8786. I play fortnite, I bible journal, I bake cakes, spend way too much on birthdays and Im extremely loved and taken care of. Did you know that a lot of people think that,s a bad thing? I dont. My husband works a modest job, we stretch the money he pulls in to make the little frayed life we live. So hey. Hi. Im NOT a problem, its me. Glad to meet you, glad to be here.

thirty dollars well spent
okay guys little story time. film cameras have been making a comeback and I’ve wanted one for so long but I couldn’t bring myself to spend 400 dollars on something I wasn’t even sure I’d know how to use. so I did a little Facebook Marketplace digging and found one for 30 dollars. I got my first roll back today and I’m SO obsessed. the photos feel so warm and real like they actually capture the moment instead of trying to make it perfect. it feels so cozy and special and I can’t wait to start putting them in a little album one day for my kids to look through.💛

Loooooove these
Ham Bean Soup
Good morning all! Wanted to share a lil budget friendly set it and forget it crock pot setup I did today! Its a favorite of my family's and I think some of you will appreciate the simplicity and heaviness of the meal as well. Ham Bean Soup You will need a 6 quart crock pot. Ingredients 1 bag of dried 15 Bean soup with ham flavor packet 1/2 bag dried northern beans 1 can cream of celery soup 1 stick of butter 1/2 to a pound of precooked ham, diced depending how "hammy" you want it to be Enough water to cover everything and then a little more. The beans will absorb and pretty much double in size providing a several-night meal for a family of 6!! Youre gonna rinse your dry beans and search them for little rocks. Sometimes they get past the production line. You dont want broken teeth! Pop them in the bottom of a clean crock pot. Make sure its off until you put everything in there and secure the lid. Chop up your ham however big or small of bite sizes you want and plop it in there. Add the ham seasoning from the 15 Bean soup bag. Sometimes they dont come with them, and thats ok. You have ham already I just appreciate the bullion taste. Add your cold stick of butter and your cream of celery soup on top of that and then fill it up with water like I said Cook on high for 8 hours, check on it throughout the day and add more water as rhe beans absorb so you dont get like. A clumpy mess. Thats it! Enjoy it with anything youd like, I tend to make corn muffins with ours. I also sprinkle a little dry parsley once its bowled to make it look like I really did something special.

Thank you! I used to make this regularly and my kids loved it, and I bet I haven’t made it in 10+ years!! You’re inspiring me to make a pot of it!
