For example: 🐰 Rabbits and other small pets e.g diet recommendations, behavioural problems, gut stasis and emergencies 🐦 Birds e.g. understanding subtle signs of illness, nutrition, enrichment 🦎 Reptiles husbandry and housing set up, behaviour, signs of illness 🩺 Clinical questions e.g. triage, stabilisation, nursing care etc Drop your question below 👇 I’ll answer as many as I can and turn the best ones into educational resources or guide you on where you can go to learn more!

I have a 14 1/2 year old rabbit with arthritis. She is on Metacam and Gabapentin. Lately she has been having trouble getting up and keeping her balance. She is eating and drinking. But she sleeps all the time when not eating or drinking. When she sleeps, she will sometimes pee and poop while laying there and get it all over her behind. Which we have to clean her all the time. I love her so much and just want the best quality of life for her. How do you know if she is in pain and that it is the time to setup appointment with vet to help her go to the Rainbow Bridge? How do you know it is time? I don't want to make any mistakes, once she is gone, she is gone. She has been such a wonderful, loving, sweet bunny that has given us nothing but joy and laughter for all these years. Thank you.

Hello and welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. I’m Olivia or Liv, an avian and exotics veterinarian and educator, and I created this space not just because of my passion for birds and exotic pets but because birds and exotic pets are too often overlooked, misunderstood and I know just how hard it can be to find reliable, trustworthy information on caring for them. This community is for pet parents of birds and exotic pets, as well as veterinary professionals, vet students, vet nurses, vet techs and anyone who works with or care about these incredible non-traditional animals. My goal is simple: to make high-quality, practical, evidence-based exotics education accessible and fun! I want you to feel empowered and to love learning from me. Whether you’re caring for a rabbit at home, nursing a bird in hospital, or building confidence with birds and exotics in practice. ✨ Inside this community you’ll find: - Free husbandry guides - Courses, e-books, and webinars (with more coming soon) - Ongoing education and discussion - A safe space to ask questions and learn I am only just getting started and have so many exciting resources that I am working on that I will be launching in the coming months! But for now this platform is still growing, and as an early member, you’ll help shape what’s created next! 👇 To get started, please introduce yourself: - What species do you care for or work with? - Are you a pet parent, vet, vet nurse, vet, student, or other animal professional? - What would you most love to learn about? Thanks for being here. I’m so excited to learn and build this community with you. Liv ❤️ 🐇🐁🐍🦎🐀🐢🦜

Hello, I am a bun mom of a beautiful 14 year old Florida White Rabbit named Trixie. My rabbit before her lived to be 14 years old. My husband and I have been proud bunny parents for over 28 years! I can't believe to this day that there is still not enough vets that see rabbits. I would love to learn about caring for senior rabbits, especially those with arthritis. Our last rabbit did not have arthritis so this is new for us. Trixie is on Metacam and Tramadol for her arthritis. We want to keep her happy and comfortable.
