There is a moment in the Gospel of Mary that I keep returning to. Mary Magdalene walks into a room full of grieving, frightened disciples and says: I have seen the Lord. He appeared to me and he gave me a teaching. And Andrew says he doesn't believe her. And Peter says: did he really speak with a woman in private, without our knowledge? And Mary weeps. But she doesn't retract. She doesn't soften the teaching to make it easier for the men in the room to receive. She weeps, and then she speaks again. She was the Apostola Apostolorum — the Apostle to the Apostles. The one sent to tell the ones who were sent. Her voice had authority. Even when no one wanted to hear it. Even when the institution would spend the next two thousand years trying to make sure no one found out. So here is the question I want to sit with you in our Soul Voice Activation on June 10th When did you first learn that your voice was a problem? Not in the abstract. Specifically. The moment — or the accumulation of moments — where you understood in your body that speaking your truth came with a cost. We are going into that on June 10th. The Soul Voice Activation Circle. Hi, I’m Laura from northeast Ohio, USA. I’ve always been drawn to the feminine, Mary, Mary Magdalene, Kuan Yin, and Sophia. I’m designing a course called The Sophia Path: A Feminine Awakening Journey. I felt called to join this community. This acrylic painting is called Amazing Grace. She represents the sacred, divine, feminine aspects of me. My artist friend studied with Shiloh Sophia ( she illustrated a beautiful Mary oracle deck) and taught a workshop on intentional creativity.
