I’m noticing how abundant our apple trees are this year, and thinking about the approaching Lamas where we celebrate the harvest. It truly is a time where we receive natures gifts 🍏
Looking up I noticed rowan berries starting to form in the trees, and noticed fears creeping in over 'what will the neighbours think' as I probably look very strange standing in the garden looking up! As I go through perimenopause I'm trying to create a who cares what people think attitude so it's interesting to catch thoughts like this when they happen and challenge them :) and seeing some nature early each day and spotting new flowers is giving me a lovely mood boost!
Engaging the senses in the natural world around you is one of the most effective ways to cultivate mindfulness. Today it was the relief of the cooler air on my skin after the heat of the last few days, the sounds of the birds and the feel of the cool grass beneath my feet.
Enjoyed touching the plants as that's not something I usually do unless I'm gardening and then my mind is usually too busy to really notice them! Noticed a beautiful poppy too that had newly appeared and I hadn't noticed before :)
I'm planning the next video for our community and I'd love you to decide what you'd most like to learn about next. Which plant gets your vote? 🌼 Yarrow 🌸 Red Clover ☀️ St John's Wort 🤍 Meadowsweet Cast your vote in the poll below! 👇 (For those of you following over on YouTube too, Yarrow is currently in the lead... but there's still time to change that! 😄) And one more exciting thing... Our 30-Day Nature Challenge officially starts on Saturday! 🎉 I can't wait to begin this journey with you all. 🌿
